And HAPPY MAMA'S DAY to all you Mama's around this joint (and a special one for Shasta, her first, yayyyyy...see I do pay a little attention).
Especially to you amazing women what may have spawned a trouble makin', rabble rousin', rule bustin' all to hell, rat pat bastid like yours truly (not sure, well that would be the one you look at with great love and affection, while at the same time have to wonder what life mighta been like if the cork hadn't been popped, cap hadn't been twist, on that one bottle of grape) oh my word do I know y'all gots your hands full, and maybe your duct tape, just remember, never break eye contact, it really makes our kind squirm:a11:...but come on come on, admit it, we ARE, the 'favorites', huh, huh, huh huh huh, yeaaaah:wink-new:.

My youngest (7) made a card for Mother's Day at school last Friday and this is what he wrote:

"My mum is a pretty short lady. She has fiery red hair and sparkly blue eyes***.
My mum says stuff like "I love you and ok 'N', (child's name) thank you for that."
Mum is as fast as a cheetah when she runs. She is a very caring mother. My mum cleans my room.
I love you mum. You are very kind to me.
I have the best mum ever.

Love from, 'N'."

Yes, my eyes were leaking (again) when I just wrote that out. :sorrow:

*** this part of his letter cracked me up... my 'fiery red hair' is because I stripped all of the other colour out of it a week or two ago and that's what it was left like.... and my eyes are a kinda non-descript green(ish) bluey... blah, blah. :biggrin2:
Edit: actually almost of all it cracked me up...

My own mom is gone, and unfortunately enough, I don't have a lot of great maternal memories of her. Some, yes, certainly, but when one is a dysfunctional person, the dysfunction is what takes sway in the mind.

So rather than dwelling on the past, we'll work to make things right. Grandma is an amazing mom, as are the Daughter and Beloved Daughters-In-Law. I hope they had an amazing, enjoyable Mom's Day. I tried to make that happen with the mother who lives at my address.

My Tall Guy wanted to take me out for mother's day today, and we were leaving out early, so I opted to take a late bath instead of getting up and squeezing one in. There I was, coming out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel... and the middle door )between the kitchen and bedrooms) opens. There stands my daughter with flowers and cards. She gets off work at 10 and decided to drop by last night after work because she worked today and didn't want me to feel forgotten.
I told her she scared the *bleep* out of me. She smiled. "Happy mother's day!" LOL!
Such a sweet kid. She even thought to get me a mother's day card from the cats.
