Tell me about it. I still believe in opening the door for women, giving my coat to a woman when she’s cold, and buying dinner. Call me Methuselah. You're showing your age--that rule went out years ago.
I was recently at a dinner function. Outside stood a young couple. It was cold. The guy had on a suit and tie and the girl had on a nice dress with spaghetti strings (they’re still called that, aren’t they?). She was shivering. I walked over to the guy, tapped him on the shoulder, and motioned for him to come over to speak to me (far enough so his date wouldn’t hear me). I said... “Dude, you date is shivering. Put you coat around her. Be a gentleman.” At first he looked at me like I was from Mars. Then looked at his date. Looked back at me and said “You’re right.” He walked over and put his coat around her. She looked at me and mimicked “Thank you.”
