Newb wondering how many books Stephen has read.

Title says it all. I'm curious to find out approximately how many books Stephen King has read in his lifetime. I read Haunted Heart the other day. At one point Tabitha shows someone their library that contains 17,000 books and then there's only a few books in a TBR (To Be Read) pile that King apparently hasn't read yet.

That number doesn't seem unbelievably extraordinary to me, but I would like someone to confirm the legitimacy of that claim (or just speculate further which is fine too).

Thanks for all the responses and warm welcomes!

I know that he said 70-80 in On Writing, but I was wondering if his reading, along with his writing, had slowed with age. I just figured that when he was a teenager he probably had more time to read than after he became a best-seller, so I was kind of wondering about his earlier years.
