Hey all,
I've been a King reader for years now. I generally go for his longer books (Needful Things, The Stand, Under the Dome, Dark Tower Series, 11/22/63, etc.), which is where (in my opinion) he excels so far beyond other authors with the complexity of characters and relationships.
But a few weeks ago I picked up the Bazaar of Bad Dreams and I'm getting my first touch of his short story side and I'm impressed, especially by some of the really short ones (20-30 pages). However, for the first time (SK or any other author), I found myself really craving to discuss the stories it with other people. Some of the stories are very clever and leave out just enough details to allow for so many interpretations of the same text.
I specifically came here to read people's opinions of "The Dune". I had an interpretation of the story I was hoping others had shared. Turns out they have not, at least not what has been posted. So I am paying my dues (read: following the rules) and posting here first, but I fully intend to share my interpretation of this story once approved.
And who knows, maybe this will be the beginning of a new relationship, you might see me here more often too...
Cheers,
BH
