I've read his book The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat and listened to countless interviews and was impressed with his unique ability to express not only the clinical aspects of his patients maladies but the compassion that was obvious in the way he dealt with them.

RIP - I did not know he also wrote "Awakenings", which became an Oscar winning film! (Just found this out).
