Lets just say..... I ordered some under crackers that I thought might be a nice addition to mine and hubs anniversary shenanigans. They were so late in delivering it was more of a Christmas shinding than Anniversary (November).
It took me a minute to figure out what under crackers were! That's so funny! Well, creative shenanigans are appreciated all year long, so happy shenaniganing!

The crackers you pull on and they go *Pop*! ?

No, what goes "pop" is underneath.

Oh you mean KNICKERS! (so that is what under-crackers are) - I was thinking either those things you put in soup or the other thingies (the Christmas mention threw me off).

Behind you
Freight damage is one of the big downsides to ordering anything online. Once a package leaves the warehouse, it's not the selling company's responsibility anymore, it's the freight company's responsibility. And take it from someone who has filed many freight claims at my office over the years, you will rarely be satisfied with the outcome of a freight claim. At my business, I've filed so many claims that I know what needs to be done but for an individual that just gets a shipment once in a while at home, it's really hell.

Here is what you have to do to have any kind of chance at a freight claim:

*First thing when you get a shipment, check it over and if there looks to be any damage, do not let the driver leave until you've opened the package and noted on the bill of lading what the damage appears to be.

*Save all the packing material and take pictures of any damage

*Call the company that you bought the product from, tell them about the damage and they may be able to help with the damage claim if it's a shipper they use a lot.

*Call the freight company (or go on their website) and fill out their damage claim form. Fill it out completely because blank spaces only give them an excuse to deny or delay.

*After that, start going to church and pray for your claim;-D

Thanks all.

Yes, they asked for original packaging ( which I had to pull out of the dumpster) and pictures.. I told them I could not provide pictures - they even asked me to get a neighbor to take one! nope.

Now I have the big box, puppy chewed wildly - foam and packing peanuts everywhere. Looks much worse than when it came.. :0

They said that I can leave it out front and they will replace.

What a PITA. but I will still order online because I really hate to shop.

Just remember the most crucial thing is to write suspected damage on the freight ticket before you sign it. Usually the driver will initial it too to confirm it. That is the most important thing to do.

It's good you stood your ground on the picture thing. I guess they assume everyone is taking pictures of everything these days (what you had for lunch, yourself in a bathroom mirror etc.)

Oh dear now I sound like my old granny! I'm glad they will replace your coffee table - birch does not sound anywhere as nice as cherry, that's for sure :applause:
