Okay, I've told how strange things happen in my house, how objects fall from shelves and things. Mostly I ignore them and they quit. The tin foil falling and hitting my same hand a lot was annoying but solved when I changed cabinets to a ceiling flush type. I could have just kept it some place else but damn it it's my kitchen and nothing is going to make ME change where I put things. Also a CD flying off a shelf and hitting me right at chest level and on a level trajectory was hard to ignore but mostly I just blow it off. No cabinet doors slamming or any really loud noises or anything major so it's pretty easy overall.

Some things you just get used to. Every so often from where I sit at the computer, as now, I see a shadow pass from the bathroom in the hall to the bedroom directly across from it. It's nothing you can predict so mostly you get glimpses from the corner of your eye. My wife has seen it and my cat, if he is on my lap, will suddenly tense and stare at it's passing. It's quick. I've worried it's maybe a faulty wire in the bathroom light but when I've taken it apart everything seems in order. The light never goes out entire but it's akin to a flicker. I've seen no shape of shadow but it's very much like a shadow passing of something on a mission heading across to the bedroom. Never seems to happen when I stare directly in that direction.

We used to sleep in that bedroom before we built on with never a thought. My daughter took it over when we left it and, aside from a Tarrot card moving on it's own incident I was not witness to, nothing strange happened to her there. She moved out ten years back. Nothing odd or creepy about it until I started putting my horror posters all over the walls. It's the spare bedroom now so company has to deal with that and I find it amusing. The grand kids won't sleep there but I can hardly blame them and they wind up sleeping with my wife anyway and putting me on the couch. I don't know why I don't sleep there.

Anyway, my wife's sister spent the night over and slept there. The next morning she tells me she had left the bedroom door open and the bathroom door cracked a bit as an improvised night light. Sometime early in the morning she woke up and felt something wasn't right. She looked toward the bathroom and saw a shadow figure stride across the hall and stand facing her at the foot of the bed. It then just faded away. She figured she hadn't woken completely but it creeped her out. Not enough to decide to not just go back to sleep though. I started "well we..." and got a head shaking no from my wife but the jig was up and I had to tell Sis about the shadow at that point. I wonder if she will sleep over again.

I think your most revealing statement was,

I don't know why I don't sleep there.

:)
Something inside your pretty pretty brain is probably saying no. Speaking of pretty, damn I hate your avatar! I could barely choke my way thru this post! Now yer gonna say, "That Nixon mask on your avatar makes me a little edgy", and I'll say, "That ain't Nixon! That's me!" Feelings will be hurt ... but yeah, interesting story! Ugly avatar.

I'm a big believer in demons using Tarot cards and Ouija boards as "places of contact/communication" and "doors", if you will, no offense. Even horror movies make mention of it from time to time. I hope that doesn't sound loony, but then again I'm not the one with ghosts flying around my house. :ghost:;-D

That's a bit PC. If I'm saying it bugs me I'm just telling the truth. If it's suppose to be a scary mask it's done it's job! I assumed it was a shock value thing. I of course had no clue scratch's unG-dly handsome mug was hidden away in there some place. It's just that it's a bit hard for me to look at. It's the teeth! But I don't think I was out of line speaking up. Often yes, but not here. Jezue Надин Δεν, you've thrown me under the bus! I wouldn't have believed it of you!

No hard feelings about the avatar. My daughter and I do a zombie run for charity every year. Ugly is a compliment as far as that is concerned.

I did sleep in that room for twenty years I just haven't in a long time. Lots of good memories in that room in fact. I built the room so there is no old ghost to haunt it or anything. Demons? Not sure I believe in them. Gods either. I like to think there is a benevolent being to blame all my good fortune on but the typical religion stuff I know and understand too well to believe.

My whole childhood was ghost story. Mother was psychic, tarot reader, played with Ouija, etc, etc. Been with her to many homes haunted, for her to try and clear em. Seen way too much, experienced way too much.
Got older, married, decided to do ghost hunting as well. Experienced a week of Stanley Hotel, crazy stuff there. Went to Waverly Hills, experienced Demonic things there. Too many things to list, so i am just summarizing. Never went to any places again after Waverly Hills. Let's just say I don't believe in ghosts anymore. Sorry if I offend anyone, but i believe all these so-called ghosts are not. They are demonic, diguising themselves.

Well gee THAT makes me feel better. Being stalked by a demon is SO much better. Eh. I just figure weird happens and you can't quite explain everything. Convince me of the demon thing by telling me a true story of something that convinced you. If you do I'll tell of the thing in the woods I met one night. Others have heard but I don't think you have. I'm not averse to demon theory per se. I sure as hell don't WANT to think that's what it is. But you have to explain why you think demons are messing with folks.

Hello Scratch. When i posted this, i wasn't posting in regards to what you posted previously, but I would love to explain to you why I believe these "Spirits" are demonic. Half has to do with things that have happened, half has to do with what i believe in, in my faith. I wouldn't mind conversing with you privately. I just will not post all my personsal beliefs, feelings, etc etc on threads as i am sure i will get attacked. it seems some people just love to start arguments, only their beliefs and what they say is correct, and if you think something differently than they start with you.
I would love to hear your stories as well. Lemme know.

I'd like to hear it too please FG26! I have an demonic story myself, but it didn't happen to me it happened to an uncle. He didn't jump to the conclusion and isn't overtly religious, it's just that after a fairly long period he couldn't come up with anything else that made any sort of sense. I'll post it, but I need to re-hear some details. The large extent of the members here are open minded, I don't think you'd get cracked for posting it. SK wrote The Little Green God of Agony for hecks' sakes. Now that was a demon! Myself I love the supernatural (more & more it seems as I get older), and I'm open to almost anything. Except Leprechauns. I draw the line at Leprechauns.

Hellooo FireGurl, are you sure youre not ME? just teasing, but you sound a lot like me, I have been around much of the same and share your view there. I also share not nadines view in not 'speaking something up' or aggravating any unseen forces that might see me do it. and Scratch do you know the origin of your name? Lol! Its hard to go into the demonic spirit aspect without getting 'religious' but I have recently a story unfolding at hand, that is mindblowing, to me, I wish I could share it, maybe I can in parts, but still again, I don't want to speak anything up. :icon_eek:

You would have the guest room filled with your horrorifying artifacts! If I were you, I would sleep in there for, 1 week, and see what happens... ? I dare you. :glare:

FireGurl26 , while I appreciate your passion and devotion, the topic of Religion is for the Hot Topics area and I would like to invite you to start a thread there in the morning when Marsha comes in.

For now, I must delete your last three posts and again, please feel free to start your own thread in regards to your beliefs in that section of the board in the morning.

My story is not about ghosts although it feels supernatural. I have an amazing sister, she has had full kidney failure since she was 18, a misdiagnosis from an incompetent doctor.

We were living in Canberra and my sister was in Melbourne for her work. When she got sick there was a short period of time where my Mum and Dad were unable to locate her, turns out she was sent to The Royal Melbourne hospital…she died on the way, thankfully she was brought back again.

I am not sure what else happened to her but I know she died a few times. Mum and Dad rushed to Melbourne.

So the weird stuff…one night I had what I thought was a dream…My sister, was sitting in front of this huge machine, facing the camera…no smile, she looked exhausted. I was 17 at the time, never even heard of kidney failure or a dialysis machine. When I woke it was the weirdest waking, I felt like I was falling, the only way I can describe it is like a scarf falling from a door knob…that is the best way I have of describing the sensation. The other feeling was complete and utter peace.

Mum and dad came home…and they had a picture of my sister…the picture was identical to my dream. My sister is the strongest woman I know, a total inspiration.

No ghosts but maybe an out of body experience…

I really don't think you appreciate any of what you state. And what you state as "Religion"... isn't. Why don't you delete peoples posts that have nothing to do with this thread. So much for tolerance and fairness.
I'm not going to argue with you. I have sent you a private message. What would Jesus do in this situation? He sure as heck wouldn't fight the moderator about board rules. He would be respectful of the house he was in.

While growing up I remember when my uncle Mike used to give all of us kids dimes so we could go to the store (back then a dime could get you a chocolate bar, a cola, or a bunch of candy). He died about 25 years or so ago and as time went on whenever someone in the family found a single dime in their pocket or on the floor or anywhere a dime turned up it was attributed to uncle Mike's spirit watching over us. A few months ago, while on a camping trip with my grandson, we were cruising the prairies with no particular idea of where we would end up, the only rule was to avoid pavement as much as possible and follow back trails and gravel roads. We ended up in the small town my uncle Mike was buried in so I visited his grave and told the grandson stories about my uncle, neglecting to tell him anything about the dimes as it was far from my mind. That night we decided to spend a night in a motel as we would be roughing it for several days therefter. During the evening he tapped on the centre bedside table and said "Papa, why don't you read me a story?" with a smirk on his face. "So you know about the Gideon bibles." I said while opening the drawer to grab the book. When I took it out a dime fell out of the book. That's about as close to a ghost story as I have experienced.

On a related note, when I was about 15 years old my mother and I had a practical joke worked out. It was a Sunday and my friend Tim came over to pick me up so we could go out for coffee. I proceeded to tell him a very strange story about walking home from the party the night before and passing the old house on the coner of 4th Avenue and Scotia Street. As I as walking by I heard my name being called and I turned towards the house and there was a little old lady standing in the streetlight shadow of some trees. "Did you call me?" I asked. She said she had been watching me for quite some time and the prophecy that spoke to her in her visions was of me standing at the top of a mountin with everything buring as far as the eye could see. "You will survive, and you have a chance to save three friends. You will know of the forecoming doom when you see a black rabbit being chased by an albino fox. When this happens you must take your three friends and proceed west. The rest will be revealed through your own visions". My buddy Tim was listening to this story with a bemused look on his face and I told him I thought that's what would happen if I told anyone. I told him I asked the old lady, who I thought was a witch, how could I convince my friends, otherwise they would not believe me and come with me when I saw the sign. She said to ask them to pick a card out of a deck of cards. She gave me her phone number and I could call her at any time and she would reveal to them the card they picked. He was still skeptical so I said "Pick a card then." I cannot remeber the card he picked but let's say it was a seven of clubs. I knew my mother was at my grandmothers place and she always answered the phone when there, so I called up my grandmother and my mother answered the phone. I said, in front of Tim, "Is this the lady I spoke to last night regarding the prophecy?" That was her cue to slowly, but not too slowly say "Hearts...diamonds...clubs". When she got to clubs I cut her off by saying "Yes, I have a friend here who is a non-believer and I did as you asked and he has picked a card." So she now knew that it was clubs and she started saying, slowly but not too slowly "one...two...three...four..." etc. When she got to seven I cut her off and said "Yes, he's with me right now. I'll put him on." and handed the phone to Tim. He took the phone and I was watching him closely. I saw the smile leave his face and a look of awe and wonder took over. He was scared and white as a ghost. I then told him that I'd meet him downtown in about an hour as I had some things to do. He left and I called my mother to let her know it worked like a charm. When I got down town later and met up with him he was holding court at a table telling everyone the story and insisting "No..It's true!". I didn't have the heart to spill the beans then and there but a few weeks later when I let the cat out of the bag he was mighty pissed off. I learned that practical jokes could have their downside but he eventually got over it and we were still buds. I did not make this prank up, I had read it somewhere and copied it.
