Why is it the willie worms predict weather? I have heard a lot people say the darker the willie worm the harsher the winter?
If it wasn't for the wooly worms, we'd be awfully bored here come October. Heck, we have an entire festival dedicated to the critters, complete with wooly worm races...and the winning worm gets to predict the winter weather.
Yeah......we're pretty bored anyway, but the festival is popular among the tourists, and it puts cash in our pockets for a few extra days before they all head to Florida for the winter.
According to tradition, you can predict the severity of local winter by the stripe pattern on the wooly worm.....black being more severe, and brown indicating milder weather.
I found only solid black ones last year......I killed them.

Weaker....no. Smarter....yes. What reasonable human being pours hot wax on themselves to get rid of a few unwanted hairs? And in use it in some unmentionable areas no less!!
The wax should only be warm, never hot......
.....and waxing sure beats the heck out of possibly cutting those unmentionable areas with a razor. That's all I'm gonna say.

Do you know what kind of winter we would have had if I had let those things live????
