No he still hasn't got a cast on yet. I think we will have a long summer.
Dang. Do you have help with Mikey, i.e. getting him around/entertaining him? Are there kids in your neighborhood for him to play with? I miss that for Nick--only 3 other kids on the street, and they're with their mother (different house) most of the time. We've cobbled together a schedule of free/low-cost adventures for the summer to keep him busy :)

Mikeys best friend lives about a mile from us. Iam sure the 2 will get together. I just haven"t figured out what to do for Mikeys birthday.Whatever it is it will be here at the house. Kind of tring to think of something a little special at least.

Maybe a pirate party? If you have the space, you could do a "pirate chest" (even a cardboard box, decorated), get dollar store beads, bandannas, coins, cheap candy, etc, to fill it, then make a "treasure map" (paper grocery sacks make GREAT, long lasting maps--if you crunch and work the paper for a while, it gets the texture of suede or leather. It's really cool! Nick still has one we made three or four years ago). You could even do individual maps & treasure boxes, have the kids look for them, and that's their party favor :). LEGO Pirates are BIG this year! Cuppycakes and ice-cream sandwiches, maybe cheap pool noodle swords for sword fights... you get the idea. If you have a swingset and an extra bedsheet, you could even draw on a skull and crossbones and make that the 'pirate ship'. :)

I'm a cheapo-cheapo. We HAD to be careful with every penny for so long that I hate wasting $ now.
