My daughter just went for a walk with my son...this is the quietest my house has been since they were both in school.

That "quiet" is an interesting thing.

When there was a lot of noise in my house, I always wished I could find little islands of quiet.

Now I've got a whole houseful of quiet and it's not at all what I thought it would be.

Life is funny . . . ya know?

Listening to Fred Neil sing A Little Bit of Rain...reminds me of this past week or two, out on the north shore of the big lake, working on that camp there next to the old Pullman Car...where Herman the cartoon character showed each day, deep concerned frown...I suspect a toothpick...high-end four-wheeler, we're talking bucks here, more than...

standing on the corner of Bleecker & MacDougal...

...anyway, in the garage, a building in which no vehicle ever resided (no door big enough to get one inside), there's a box over in the corner, right, thing is full of old vinyl records, Victrola on the label, half of them were missing pieces like they've been through the Record Wars and this is the home for old wounded vinyl. Would have loved to been able to bring some of them home, put them on the turntable. One of two Finnish in nature...one or two in the area, Suomalainen.

and just a little bit of rain.
and if I look back...

sometimes you come across a song that has been around for a time...same thing with stories. and you feel like you've been todash.

We celebrated my son's engagement by going out for a meal tonight, when we got back home and after the guests had left, the first thing my 14-year-old did was to 'call' the toilet.
So of course I took advantage of the fact that he was playing on his phone and darted into the room before he could get there.

I should have remembered that no 'win' goes unpunished in this house... when I opened my laptop later tonight, this was waiting for me as my new desktop picture...

As a child I invented several masked crime-fighter personas, complete with costumes and weapons, and stalked the savage streets of our one stop sign town searching for evil doers.

It is only amongst people like you would I dare reveal such information.
And it's only people like ourselves that would think you cool for keeping the world safe back then.

I don't listen to or do podcasts.
I don't read or write blogs.
I hate endlessly shilling on Twitter/ FB (forget Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, ad nauseum).
Goodreads makes me ill.

I just want to talk to interesting people (without 'selling' them) and let the people in my head tell their stories.

I was born in the wrong time.

*sigh*

I have about had it with this skunk that keeps coming in the yard. A few weeks ago, it stunk really bad! It shows up around 2 AM each time! Last night it wasn't as stinky as last time, but geez, find somewhere else to hang out! And, of course, I am the only one that smells the thing. It gets so bad, I hide under the covers!
