Yes, I know of his work. I have only heard of Metamorphosis and The Trial but have read neither.
Kiddo had 4 snow days in a row. Pretty sure that's a record for this district.
Poor kid, lol. (Or poor Stacy, I should say...) When he's at home is he used to a certain schedule/structure? I hope he ends up having a relaxed, good day. From what you've said in the past he doesn't like deviating from the routine. So, running away to Tara may be out of the question.I forgot to mention the worst part of this...on Thursday, the website posted that Friday would be a 2 hr delay.
Delayed openings are a hard concept for kiddo to grasp (add to that, he was supposed to have a much-anticipated field trip that would be cancelled...and remember, this after already having 3 straight days of no school) so I figured I would tell him in the morning, instead of him stressing over it all night.
I woke up Friday morning, double checked the site and it hadn't changed.
Told kiddo the bus would be "really late" but it would be ok, and made him a huge breakfast, but he was acting out due to the delay.
Triple checked the site an hour before the bus was supposed to come - still delay. Then got busy with morning stuff and didn't think to check again.
If you've read this far, you know what ended up happening right?
When kiddo was showered, dressed, bundled up, ready, we waited on the deck for 10 minutes before I decided to check the site again.
You guessed it: CLOSED.
I would've rather had the job of telling HRC she lost the election than telling my son there was no school while we were waiting for the school bus...but he took it rather well and was in an okay mood most of the day.
Yesterday, not so great... and so far today, he's asked me about two dozen times if he has school tomorrow.
Oh I sure hope he has school tomorrow. I think you handle the school and teachers and bus drivers with much class and strength, being his advocate. Parenting is hard on the best days, with no other issues.I forgot to mention the worst part of this...on Thursday, the website posted that Friday would be a 2 hr delay.

Emma Horton told someone about parenting: As hard as you think it looks, you end up wishing it were that easy.
Ayuh.
Thank you, and that quote is spot on!
Unless we get hit with a surprise blizzard (God forbid) I'm certain there will be school tomorrow
I don't even mind that I'll have to spend all day catch up on errands.

Ahh we'll see. Our D is our weak spot this year. Only way we'll stay with them is if it turns into a shootout. The 'Backs are playing a solid game....should be a good one.
