This is a Japanese series currently running on Netflix. Subtitled.
I am one of the few people who don't find Japanese horror all that good. Yes, they have some really brilliant imagery, and yes, if some stringy haired corpse crawled through my TV gurgling a rat a tat tat tat tat guttural sound at me, I think my bladder would fall out on the floor -- but overall, I just don't think they are that scary. I don't think they are all that original.
This was a series I stayed with as each episode was about 20, 25 minutes -- so quick. And it was a locked room situation. I love locked room stories. But man oh man, I know it's a cultural thing and probably an age thing too as I really think teen girls would probably really like this.
It was intriguing enough to keep me coming back but so many holes. It was hard for me to watch without suspending disbelief. The fact that the episodes were so short is what allowed me to hang with it because if those episodes would have been any longer -- I would've tapped out.
And after the big reveal, they had an episode that was called Re: Wind. I felt like I was in a break-the-4th-wall Mama Mia, or better, Little Orphan Anime.
Whatevs, I killed an afternoon bingeing on it and didn't have to commit too much brain power.
