Yes! I had that on my list as well. Definitely the original.Martyrs...The 2008 Version. I can't say I would recommend it....it is insanely graphic....but its a movie that will haunt you.
I don't ever want to see another movie like that again.
...read the original story behind the movie......written by Ray Russell....that is, if you haven't already....Sardonicus first appeared in Playboy in 1961....Scarred my old brain, too!
That was the year I was born. I wasn't reading playboy yet....read the original story behind the movie......written by Ray Russell....that is, if you haven't already....Sardonicus first appeared in Playboy in 1961....
...well you know we share a birth year.....and somehow I know we DON'T share an interest in the centerfold....and you are most welcome my friend....it is a great read....That was the year I was born. I wasn't reading playboy yet.
I shall seek it out. Thanks big guy!
True... but I did rifle through my dad's things as a young boy to seek out such magazines and there was a sort of attraction there. Can't deny that. But it only went so far. It's a complex issue and I think that's what many people don't understand. Not you though GNT; you are one of the enlightened ones....well you know we share a birth year.....and somehow I know we DON'T share an interest in the centerfold....and you are most welcome my friend....it is a great read....

Since this is the thread most cult-buffs will look at, I may as well ask here: Does anyone here have The Phantom of the Paradise blu-ray from Shout Factory and know whether it plays region B as well as A?
I'm sorry Gerald - I wish I could be of more help to you here! I've had a look around online but cannot find any other sources for this DVD that list it as region B compatible. Have you tried emailing Shout Factory to ask them? If they don't respond, I would try emailing the company who you plan to buy it from. If they say that it is playable on region B machines and it turns out not to be, then you would at least be able to send it back for a refund if you saved their email.
You're probably aware of this already, but many DVD players can be hacked to make them multi-region, or to change their region. There are plenty of websites that tell you how to do it -

Good luck!
Alright - Holly's Horror Pick of the Day (brackets obscure division close brackets) is the one and only Manhunter, the first adaptation of Thomas Harris' EXCELLENT novel Red Dragon, and the first appearance of Hannibal Lecter on our screens.
(Honestly, if you have never read Red Dragon, stop whatever you're doing immediately and rush out and grab a copy! You will thank me, and then you will sleep with the light on for a month. )
