You would think they should be uncomfortable but weirdly enough they are not (as long as they fit properly),
We were in Holland in 1995 but I didn't buy any as a souvenir - it is a nice clean place though I found (especially since went there directly from Islamabad)

They are common in sweden too, at least in the country. In the cities not so much.

No problem. I'm just left wondering if we really still have the stereotypical image of everyone walking on wooden shoes and growing tulips and cannabis.

Didn't know that, actually. But why would the use of them be limited to one country.

Currently I'm reading the Dark Tower series, did so before but ended it prematurely because I lacked #5 and didn't want to continu with #6, as I had already experienced that #4 makes a lot more sense after reading the first three.

Correction, it was #6 that I didn't have. Still didn't when opening this thread last week, but got the series in ebook-form (that's why I could restart reading).
Now coincidentally my mum came across the paper variety of #6 at a flea market last weekend and bought it for me! So now I have the series complete...ish, as Mr. King decided to publish a #4.5 a few years back. But hey, we're getting there.
