From the folks at Alabama Booksmith:

There's weekend literary excitement! Tomorrow, Saturday, March 4, we'd love for you and your Facebook friends to visit for a few minutes. You won't need to fly to Birmingham. Just tune in to our Facebook page at 1:00pm CST. 2:00pm EST, 12:00pm MST, 11:00am PST. We'll have a live major announcement about Harper Lee.

Here's the scoop: Harpercollins, one of the world's largest and finest publishers (and Harper Lee's publisher - why do you think they call themselves Harpercollins?) is featuring one American bookstore every Saturday in 2017. Tomorrow, we're it.

Each store tells how they operate and conduct an in-store tour. We'll do that, and as a special bonus, we'll also have a live on-site interview with the author of the upcoming blockbuster book about Harper Lee. Additionally, we'll announce a unique limited edition.

Thanks for sharing, very cool. I've been there many times.

I don't know why I didn't contribute to this thread when it happened.

To Kill A Mockingbird literally changed my life. It rousted me from white lower-middle-class complacence and forced me to consider broader issues and social justice in a real, personal way. It also gave me a certain joy for appreciating truly timeless literature.

Ms. Lee's gift to the literary world may have been fairly singular, but it was powerful and foundational.
