I just saw the "film" of 11-22-63 yesterday, 25 March 2018.
I had listened to the audio book a year before, and was quite taken with Jake and Sadie, listening to the end several times, when he goes back and dances with her, with 40 or more years between them.
In 2016 I was in a serious car accident, and luckily my draft of a story was recovered from the back seat. It is the only fiction I have ever written, and has been finished and revised many times since. There are similarities to 11-22-63 in an obscure way, with only with two people talking, at an airport and on an airplane.
Nothing has come of it at The New Yorker or Atlantic, and nothing probably will.
I am an architect, not a writer.
If anyone would care to read my short story, aptly named "Short Story", just send me an e-mail.
I cry at the end, just like I did at 11-22-63.
