I'm one of the old folk of the SKMB. Think it was 1999. Lurked for awhile trying to figure out what this place was about. I've watched the MB grown from a tiny little village into a world wide community. As the membership grew so did the friendships. It may be difficult for newcomers to understand, but this MB is a family. As MsMod stated- we are Ka-Tet-- one made of many. When one is in need, all feel that need and rally around. Chattery Teeth is the place for all to share their daily lives. Lives that revolve around SK works. That is what drew us here in the first like. People sharing like interests whether it be his latest book, or a member dealing with health issues.

Over the years I have never experienced a MB such as this. It isn't a chat room, and it isn't Facebook. It is a home/ playground for all who enjoy SK. We know he ventures into this playground from time to time, as he asks our opinion/ thoughts. His main connection between us - the members and himself is our guide- MsMod. How many times have I seen a member ask a question about his work and there is a reply posted by MsMod. When many desire an answer, I've seen Steve post a response via MsMod.

Like any family, we disagree with each other from time to time. this is part of life. So we have a Hot Topics section.

I've made some close friendships here, many international. Something I do not think would have been possible without this MB. People sharing a common interest becoming long lasting friends. I care about them as much, if not more, than blood relatives. I've learned about different cultures first hand by what a member will post. The SKMB is more than just discussing his work, it is about a group of people --well met.

Lol. Love the responses. You guts believe the author reads this ****? Haha, god, I split a gut reading those responees. Keep on truckin' on 'fans'. I weep for your simple souls, your cheesie riddles 3 Wolf Moon t-shirts and dating profiles using Chatum Tanning or Megan Fox photo's as your own. Haha, thank you all for verifying my theory. Ignorance Is bliss, isn't it? You do realize you are all fodder for the rest of us?!
I didn't join this site with any expectation or belief that Mr. King reads any of our posts. I joined because I found a community of people who love and appreciate the works of Stephen King. I stayed because I like it here. I like the people. There are plenty of great discussions about SK and his work.
We also enjoy discussing other topics....and even a laugh or two. This is a fabulous place to be. We all don't always agree, and sometimes discussions can get heated.....but we're very much like a family and what we have works for us.

.....and before you keep throwing around the word 'ignorant' to label us, you should know that many IQs here are extremely high. You should really have gotten acquainted before you began labeling. You do not know me or anyone else here....you don't know our lives or experiences. I feel sorry for you because you obviously have a need to feel superior, and have therefore, turned yourself into the only proof of your so-called theory.
I refuse to crawl around in the mud with you any further.....I have better things to do, more discussions to participate in, and more nonsense to post.

Here, there and everywhere.
Tara - in all seriousness - have you given any thought to the kind, thoughtful responses that many of the members of this board have given (not me, of course)? I have to think that you are just very young, and have never had to lean on someone at a time when people in your "real" life either weren't supportive, weren't interested, or just weren't around. Not to sound evangelical, but just think about all of the good things you've read here.

Where's the "dislike" button gone? It needs bringing back. I'm clearly not as forgiving as a lot of people on this board. I can't believe people do this "trolling" thing (for this is what it must be, since it's clearly not meant to be serious, I mean, come on, no-ones THAT stupid are they, even the writing style is trying too hard) for pleasure!! Go away, and leave us "simple souls" alone, we are NO ONES fodder. (Sorry Ms M)

I was quite pleasantly surprised to discover that a member of his staff is actually here though.
