An uncle of mine was an archeologist, or so he claimed. He also experienced dry spells between jobs. It seems to be the nature of the business. But he loved to travel and at times taught at colleges all over the world. And he never seemed to be without some sort of work for very long.

(Of course I have a feeling he was actually a spy for the CIA, as it seemed he always ending up “working” in all the world’s hotspots.)
Was your uncle Chuck Barris?

Well, right now some kind of job would be nice....... I'm not picky
Well as Patrick Swayze said in Roadhouse, "There's always barber college". :p

I am joking of course. Being a project based worker is tough. I've done it in IT some and it can be scary when you don't have the next one lined up. I am sure with your pedigree it won't be too long. Until then, think of the extra reading time you'll get! :)

I think you’re confusing The Gong Show with Land Of The Lost. My uncle’s now retired and in his mid 70’s. But I think either China’s MSS or Russia’s GRU have gotten to him with a sleeper agent – his 25 year old foreign born wife. The situation has fried his brain. Last time he visited, he was calling her incessantly. He forgot to bring the charger for his out-of-date cell phone (probably Russian) and I had to run him to about 6 places trying to find him a 20 year old charger, to no avail. Poor guy has turned to jello. :)
