We had two women murdered within one week here in Edmonton. This one happened on Sunday and is so very bad. Sounds like Jack the Ripper but it was her estranged boyfriend. So shocking.

No death penalty in Canada; I sometimes wonder if it should be reinstated. If I remember correctly when it did exist it was applicable to
first degree murder, murder of a police officer and rape.
