One channel would house the electric grid and batteries. As to the dirty panels, etc. They didn't fully address this. Maybe they could start with one coast to coast roadway and call it "The Beam" or something...
Thanks. But what the hell is "virtual storage," and how can it store power? "Batteries"... that's a heck of a lot of lead acid and a heck of a lot more added money to put in to the cost and even more to maintain.

I think virtual storage means that the electric flows back into the power grid, much like a carbon-negative house that actually puts power back into the grid, but on a more massive scale. They said in their FAQs that they don't wish to go the battery route because of the environmental impact.

Understand, I'm highly skeptical.

But if it could be done.... wow, just wow.

But I have serious doubts.

But still, if.........
Seems like Montana or a place like that would be a great place to test this on a large scale. I just like the fact it's two entrepreneurs thinking outside the box and trying something new. This is why we need government funding for new tech and start-ups like this. Even if this didn't work out, you never know what else might be discovered accidentally.

The idea itself is brilliant, I'm Solar-Freaking-Sold on that... now, just to see it working in a large enough area to give us a true test, this would be excellent.
(NZ uses a fair amount of solar panelling and those people that do, often receive a cheque, rather than a bill from their energy companies.)

Just so's y'all are informed...

June 3rd is a Day of Action for climate change. If you think solar roadways are a great idea and want to support pressure on Congress to accept them, you need to write a letter to your reps (I can send you a link), so that the "climate deniers" in Congress will finally cave to voting for action to implement solar roadways. There are lot of reps in both the House and the Senate who don't believe climate change is upon us.

If you want to know where there are press conferences in rallies across the country on June 3rd, contact me via PM. I'll tell you if there's an event in your area.
