Good lord man! Do you use a Shamwow as a Q-Tip?
...but they are quite thorough...Those brushes tickle, don't they?
...I've never understood it, unless the view is one is the Yin to the others Yang....and that just sounds dirty right there...There is something strange about the vitriol that ensues in the King vs Koontz debate. There are no real similarities in their works, other than the supernatural, and yet the venom spewed is incredible. Even when it is tongue n' cheek it has an edge. There is no King vs Barker or King vs Straub. Now if there was a King vs Patterson....let's not even go there.
Which post of mine are you referring to? I can't figure it out.

I have found this "Ignore" option quite useful lately - I used to go "like" everything just to keep track of what I had read and then I realized (especially in the Politics and Religion areas) I can save myself a lot of hassle by just not reading that cr@p!This may be a good time to remind folks that they can
a) have differing opinions without making things personal,
b) agree to disagree and move on, or
c) make use of the Ignore option
Welcome. I must agree about Koontz. Some of his books are great. Like Lightning. A lot of them are okish. Some suck. I find his characters are a bit one dimensional. Either all good or all bad. Give me SK any day.King and Koontz can be hit or miss at times, just like anyone. Koontz seems to miss more often with me, but that's really down to preference. I really enjoy Stephen's prose, and that for me can save a book with a weaker narrative. (Not that there are many I consider weak, but there it is)
That being said, there are a few Koontz books in my library I would place in my top 20 favorite books list, right along with King. I don't consider the Koontz titles a guilty pleasure, nor do I admit this with a sheepish expression on my face. I consider those titles to be solid and skillfully written pieces of popular fiction.
When he chooses to get down, Koontz can really cook.
But between you and me and the old oak tree, I prefer the spices in King's cupboard a little more.

I think fans can't handle both of them having last names starting with "K", or at least the same letter. There is something strange about the vitriol that ensues in the King vs Koontz debate.
