I really need some chocolate.....
This is going to be my standard reply now whenever things start getting tense around here. Chocolate is my 'go to' when I am stressed. If I start putting on the pounds it is going to be all you all's fault!!!!!I'll make cookies. Dark chocolate with macademias?
You are so nice Flake.I don't mean to be grumpy, but gosh..
Neither of you are letting me down... I was just playing to try and lighten the moment... it's okay.I wouldn't have much faith in me right now, Flake. I'm sorry, but I feel like we should be able to point out that people are posting spoilers so that they can kindly do the right thing and think about it for the sake of all others on the board in the future. I am beyond irritated right now. I've been on this board for a long, long time and have never had to deal with a reaction like this for something so incredibly ridiculous and I'm pissed. So, I'm sorry, Flake. I love you. I do. But this is beyond insane.
...now THAT'S cool and I didn't even have a dog in this fight!....
I've been blah-blah-blahing my way through the Mr. Mercedes threads since it came out, because I still haven't finished it, but seriously... I know I don't have much hope of things not being revealed, so I have to take that chance by entering any thread that even hints at being related to M.M.I should have used spoiler tags on part of my first post on page 7 I did the same thing MJS did - I posted a comment related to the thread title without thinking it could be a spoiler to someone who doesn't want to know anything about Mr Mercedes until they've finished reading it. Sorry y'all
That was very nice of you to say, thank you!I should have used spoiler tags on part of my first post on page 7 I did the same thing MJS did - I posted a comment related to the thread title without thinking it could be a spoiler to someone who doesn't want to know anything about Mr Mercedes until they've finished reading it. Sorry y'all
My FAVORITE are the thread titles that say "Possible spoilers" so that I can stay far, far away!Neither of you are letting me down... I was just playing to try and lighten the moment... it's okay.
And, it's perfectly okay to be annoyed with one another... I don't expect us all to get along at all times. Just remember to breathe and put it all into perspective, that's all I ask. xox
You're a kind person. I sort of assume that if you go on a thread for something you haven't read or seen, you can't be too surprised if people reveal info through their enthusiasm. Oy vey! So many rules to remember... (lol) I apologize retroactively (and probably in advance) if I've forgotten to tag anything in a thread.I should have used spoiler tags on part of my first post on page 7 I did the same thing MJS did - I posted a comment related to the thread title without thinking it could be a spoiler to someone who doesn't want to know anything about Mr Mercedes until they've finished reading it. Sorry y'all
Too Koontz=ish? Show me where the supernaturally gifted Golden Retreiver is....
...dammit!.....The ship sinks.
I have a terrible memory for names so in preparation for the next Mr Mercedes book, I made a character list. I didn't use big spoilers to describe the characters but any description is a bit of a spoiler so I'm putting the list in spoiler tags.

Yeah, but what if the story in the next books take place before the events of the 1st? Then the characters in the 1st keep their closure "untouched". And this you can't know until you read the next 2.LOL man, YOU are missing my point. The fact that I didn't read them it's irrelevant. The first book CAN work as a stand-alone story, that was the feeling many had before Steve announced the next books--that the story was told, the end. I'm just saying I like this way better, that all the characters had THAT closure, etc. etc.
Of course, now I'm wrong, and they'll be back for more, have another closure. But it doesn't change the fact that I prefer just one book about Detective Hodges (nor it means I won't like the other books).
