Wilmington DE, strange little place.
I need to know about one story; Dedication.

Its the one about the maids, in the 50-60s.
they work in a fancy hotel and the one lady gets pregnant and then sees
a 'brewHa" (voodoo) woman and is told the 'natural Father' is a famous writter guy.
One of her regulars at the Hotel.

the writter guy is a big time jerk. He is KKK'ish. He and his friends
have a party the day J.F.K is murdered.

In the 'notes' section I believe Stephen King makes it clear that
this KKK-Gentleman...is based on a real dude. A real writter.
It seems like the writter (IRL) was a hero of Kings ...untill he
found out what the guy was REALLY like.

King says words to the effect that he will not 'name' the guy... "at this time"
meaning that King would name the guy some other time.(I think)

I must know ...who this writter is >? ?,(was). I must.
Ive tried google and wiki...got nowhere

I've read the story. I don't really care who the character was based upon. The story is great without me ever having the need to possess that particular knowledge.

Nice advertising your question in the What Are You Reading and Favorite King Short Story threads, though......very clever

all right people....
some of you are "making fun"...

Go read this by-God , Strange F'n story , then come back to this thread.
I'm not making fun of you. :) (Though sometimes I do use this :biggrin2: emoticon a little too much, granted--but it's because I'm most often smiling/or grinning)
I have read the story, was a bit grossed out by it at times, but thought it was interesting. If he has based this on an actual person, I guess it would be interesting to hear about that, but not if it wasn't something he was happy to share. You perhaps came across a little aggressive, Tiny so maybe I was just trying to slow you down somewhat.

My last comment, was to say... 'who knows *shrug* maybe he has mentioned this at some time and if so, maybe Ms. Mod will have something for you.'
