When I was over in Scotland, after a couple of months I started getting nostalgic for things like Kraft peanut butter, etc.
I enjoy a nice cheese and pickle sandwich sometimes (Kraft singles sliced process cheese and Bick's Yum Yum pickles on bread). So Andy heard me say I miss having a nice cheese and pickle sandwich.

He made me a sandwich with cheddar cheese and something called "Branston Pickle" - uggh! it was dark brown and was essentially pickled vegetables - yuk - it was disgusting and I could not eat it xD

Bless him, trying to make his beloved something fancy.

 I loved this!

I know, it's funny as hell! =D

And you'd think after this episode the man might think about cooking a meal for us sometime, but still no, almost 24 years of marriage and I think he's made dinner three times, and it's just a box of frozen something thrown into the oven.

I think I would find it impossible to knowingly eat any kind of insect. Well, I suppose for a price, maybe.

I played soccer, and when you're sprinting to get into position or chase down an offender, your mouth is open, you're panting, and you catch one. You can either stop and retch on the field, or swallow and keep going. I always chose the latter.

Bugs may be an important answer to global nutrition. Insects: Nutritious, but Delicious? / Nutrition

Must be octupus for me. Not the ordinary way. That i have done many times and liked. But i was on vacation in crete and i usually try local specialities when abroad. This octupussy come in on a plate and I was completely certain that it would run of the plate in a moment. Looked like it had just been dragged up out of the water some moments ago, put on a plate and then carried in. All the arms still attached to the rest, you could still se the little cups( or whatever you call them that is under each arm). Didn't taste too bad though but i prefer to eat octupus in anotherway. A little rubbery but eatable and there were some read wine to swallow it down with. It looked very strange though.

There's nowt wrong with Branston Pickle! And Picallili is yum too!
I guess if you are expecting a chutney like substance, then it is good on its own merit - I was just taken aback as to me, the pickles I was looking forward to were these ones:

Instead - this is what I got:

Dark brown, spicy - not like a pickle at all - more like chutney :(

Yum Yum pickles are sweet, crunchy and green - oh well - he meant well!

Strangest dinner I remember....

You know those boxed taco kits? I had cooked up ground beef, added the powdery spice stuff, chopped up onions and peppers, tomato, etc, and grated cheese. everything was ready so everyone could top their own tacos. I stuck the shells (the hard corn shells) in the oven to warm...and turned it to high. Burned them to a crisp.

So, I opened a bag of potato chips (plain), crushed them a bit and put the ground meat on top of it. Let everyone put what toppings they wanted on their own plate.

It was actually much better than it sounds. We now make it that way and use Doritos corn chips.
