I'd be interested to hear what you Survivor watchers thought of this season? What were your thoughts about the guy they got rid of for inappropriate behavior? What did you see as far as the show? With editing, you might not have seen anything, but did you get a feeling about this guy by what you saw?
One of his accusers got voted off instead of him? Was that the right thing to do at the time?
It's hard to judge things based on less than a day's worth of footage out of over a month's worth of time on the island. It is very clear that Dan behaved in a way that upset more than one player. He definitely violated several women's personal spaces through inappropriate touching.
One of them spoke to producers and some action was taken, but we on the outside don't know exactly what that action was. It was presented in a way that made it seem that the situation was explained to the other players but apparently most of the other players felt the conversation was too vague and non-specific for them to understand the seriousness of the situation. The players who voted out the complainant did so strategically without a full understanding and a couple of them later expressed regret for their actions.
The incident that finally led to his ejection was off camera and didn't involve another contestant but a member of the show's production team.
Probst and Survivor have essentially admitted they did not handle the situation correctly and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again in the future. It was a real mess, to be honest.
