This just never gets old!
First time I'd seen this one!
It was great, thanks. First week normal temperatures, about 22-28 degrees in the day but then it stayed over 30 the second week. One day we was visited by a thubnderstorm with a copoius amount of rain. Shortlived but still enough to cause an overflowing in Aqaba. Our hotel was allright though, no flooding there. Petra, The desert Wadi Rum (the place where Star Wars (it was the desertplanet Tattoine that Luke Skywalker grew up in) and Lawrence of Arabia was filmed in. I rode a camel and could hardly walk the day after(there was no place to put the legs and the beast i sat on was so broad that i almost had to sit in spagat (is it called that? that position balletdancers and people like that can make with such ease) was fantastic. Also took a dive with a submarine and saw corals and giant sponges and barricudas and a turtle. The dead sea was.... i don't really know the word... Strange perhaps. It is a very odd feeling to float like that and it did wonder for the skin. I can absolutely see why it is supposed to be healthy to take a dip now and then.YAY! You're home! I was just thinking today how much I've missed your posts--was going to email you tonight How was your trip?
You just told Dana Jean that you ate Goat?! Oh boy... you are going to be in SO much trouble!I've a lot of good pictures!! And i ate some food i've never eaten before. Among them goat, beduin-style made in in a pit in the ground, and camel. Camel can actually be recommended. Tastes like beef but a bit more juicier. And they are really good in grilling fish in Jordan. But the desserts... nah, not my style, mostly rather tasteless and the ones which wasn't was very sweet and crumbly. But their appetizers was good. There was one fried Haloumi (a kind of cheese) with a special black olive dip that was great.
Great to be back though. And you will be fed more details. Anticipation is half the fun, don't you know?
So happy for you, Kurben. A wonderful adventure indeed. It was great, thanks. First week normal temperatures, about 22-28 degrees in the day but then it stayed over 30 the second week. Great to have you back.
You are only now, asking me where my morals are? How long have you been here, Kurben?I can't lie..... You mean i should do that? Where are your morals, Flake?

Nah, still too obvious. I think I'm gonna disappear for a week until the DJ dust storm settles..... Kurben, whatever you do, do NOT post a before and after picture of that goat! You are only now, asking me where my morals are? How long have you been here, Kurben?
(& nah, I don't expect you to lie... but perhaps do this: "Hey, Dana Jean... look over there at that bright shiny pretty coloured stone sitting on a beautiful sunset-lit backdrop... I ate goat on my holiday see how the light catches the colours?")
They're hilarious. This just never gets old!
Yep, this!
You mean kind of soften the blow? You are only now, asking me where my morals are? How long have you been here, Kurben?

The beduins explained the whole process to us. But be calm i don't have any before or after pictures. It is just the proper thing to do, to go with the custums of the country and when you are sitting in a beduin camp under their tent (made of goatskin by the way) you eat their food. Wasn't particularly tasty. I much prefer camel.Nah, still too obvious. I think I'm gonna disappear for a week until the DJ dust storm settles..... OK! I agree. It was a stupid question. But i couldn't tell her, a lady, that right out, could I?
