Looks like I’m going on a fabulous vacation in Maui in a couple of months, including...
  • Snorkel and sea turtle experience
  • Traditional Hawaiian luau
  • Dinner at acclaimed restaurant
  • Swim with dolphins
  • Sunset dinner cruise
  • Spa experience
  • Farewell dinner
  • Luxury gift bag
  • Missile attack by crazy ruler of North Korea
:facepalm_smiley:
Did you draw straws? Last time I checked it seemed as if Mom got picked as her "plus one" o_O

It was... well... a trip!!! ;-)
I read that Native Americans can legally possess peyote
Okay - never mind - ignore my previous dumb statement (this was on a calendar I own called "Fact or Crap"

:hmm: I feel like a dumb Canuck at times - do I believe these things are or they pulling my leg?

The bottom of my feet have built in leather soles now.

Seriously, I bought a brand new pair of Columbia hiking shoes. I may need to replace them soon. According to my fitness tracker dealio I averaged 19.6 miles per day for 12 days straight. Much of that was not linear, mind you. Hiking and rock climbing and canoeing and other things. But I did lose 15lbs over the trip. And I ate like a bear. Also, saw bears. Seriously, a family of them. We have them in Florida! Didn't have my camera ready unfortunately, so it'll have to stay in my private Idaho.

The Suwanee River is beautiful. I decided not to take many pics and really truly UNPLUG. I can't recommend it enough. It does mean no SKMB, but refreshing is a good thing, no?

The thinking is I'm a seasoned traveler and the best choice to deal with all the logistic problems of getting to an from the different places... so she could be stress free and just enjoy the prize. And I'm the most level headed and calmest of the bunch. Looking to see if her youngest sister can join us.

So did you get in touch with your inner self?

It actually sounds wonderful - glad you had a good time :encouragement:

I am still a sick puppy

Had to return to see the doctor and this time he gave me a five day course of quick acting antibiotics (azithromycin)

I feel pretty miserable - woke up this morning with sore throat, runny nose, and what looks like conjunctivitis in both eyes.

Since I have to work both Saturday and Sunday but I am off today I am keeping the fingers crossed that the two pills I took yesterday, followed by the one this morning will do the trick.

Directions say to take two the first day then one tablet for the next three days.
:too_hot::m_sneeze::sweat_more::ill:

p.s. of course I will continue to take the rest of the package, but I just want this thing to be over (yesterday!):wait:

Oh Neesy, feel better soon. Did the doctor give you a ZPak (Zithromax)? It works great, but
slowly. At least that is what my doctor told me and he was right. Less risk of getting sick again
with that med.

Thanks - I should have got it on Tuesday actually but at that time he thought it was a virus :facepalm_smiley:

I have to work day shift 7 to 2:30 on Saturday and Sunday so I hope this stuff kicks in soon :doc:

I hope I did not get exposed to some serious bacterial specimen - we have to pick up lab samples and take them to the dumbwaiter so they can go to the various labs

from now on I am going to wear disposable gloves and a mask when handling them

I have not been this sick in many years

Thanks - the one that got me was a swab that said it was taken from the right hand of the patient and they wanted to test for necrotizing fasciitis :dribble::barf:

I was reaching into the part of the bag where the paperwork goes to refold it correctly so you could see where it was supposed to go i.e. Microbiology, Chemistry, Pathology etc.

Screw that - if they cannot put the paperwork in properly I will either leave it there at the ward and ask them to put the paperwork in properly

- or if no one is around to ask, I'll take the sample to the dumbwaiter and put it in one of the bins without refolding (99% of the time it IS for Microbiology anyway)

What strange times. My work place was robbed last night by a masked man with a gun. I've heard many horror stories about fast food restaurants getting robbed, but it had never happened where I worked before.

I was off last night and all day yesterday, but I had worked three consecutive nights before that. It happened at about 1 am at night.

I don't understand people who steal. I really don't. There's no reason for it.

Putting a gun in a coworker's face for money. Could have easily been me there. Just wow.
