Good morning!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Busy busy here. I ended up making 2 cakes for Brandon's party. The first one was a total fail! It went together nice, was straight when I started frosting it but by the time I was done, it looked like the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Only worse. ;-D

Marti said it was fine but I stewed over it and decided to start over. I used whipped cream on top instead of frosting the second time, just to make it lighter. And used dowels, which I skipped the first time because all the cakes baked nice and they set together nice and flat, I thought the frosting would be enough glue to hold them in place. But I was wrong!! Here is the finished 2nd cake...

(I resized it so hope it is ok)

Anyway, not a perfect effort. But much better than my first one. And it seemed to be a hit. Everyone liked it, and they loved eating it, there is none left. Haha. Had to use a piece of the dowel to hold the handle up, too, the fondant did not harden even though I had it in the fridge overnight.

I'm beat today! Not planning on doing a whole lot.

Have a great day! Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

Amazing cake! :)

Sounds like my morning NN. Tripped walking downstairs of GF's townhouse, almost impaled myself on baby gate. Tripped again walking out to truck over front step while trying to sling my backpack over my shoulder, apparently I can't walk and do that at the same time, then Sonic's debit card reader was down and I had no cash.....It has to be 5'o clock somewhere doesn't it? Happy Friday and weekend to ya' NN....

:nope: Gotta hate it when all that happens. How's your health care benefits

Oldest son is now a graduate of Plymouth State.
Might have had a bumpy start but - Wow! - he finished great:
Straight As... Now he's planning on a graduate degree.
He is proving quite the credit to our family tree.
Yeah to the scholar!
Let's give him a holler
Did the apple fall far from the tree?
I wonder can he rhyme as good as Mrs. Smee? (j) :a11::a24:

6/6 - the national day of sweden! Lots of celebrations, flags and stuff. The date was originally the coronation date of Gustav Vasa 1523 but nobody seems to know it now. To most people it is way back in time i guess, to me it seems to be very recently. I guess my perspective is a bit warped. Some people dress in special national clothes too to celebrate and honor the day. Our Crown Princess is one of them.

In the middle The Crown Princess Victoria with her daughter Estelle, to the left her younger sister Princess Madeleine and to the right her mother Queen Silvia
Mmmmm - good bone structure!

The one on the left reminds me of the lady who plays Bones (Emily Deschanel)

Hello, dear friends.
Popping in to say Hi, hope everybody is well.
We are doing OK, except for my mom who is not doing good, she hasn`t left the house in months by now.
Still able to walk the short distance to the bathroom, but that`s where it ends.
Wishing you all a lot of love and health, everything else is less important.
You are always on my mind.
Hope your Mom starts to feel better Srbo

Thank you! We're so happy for him... If a bit surprised.
We were worried at the start but then he realized
College life is easier than working every day
At a job that wouldn't offer all that much in pay.

He's a lucky SoB because his father paid
And we'll help with law school, too. The kid has got it made.
Hopefully, our youngest son will also do as well.
Right now, though, he's in the midst of his own bumpy spell.

Smart but really lazy is how I'd describe my son.
He slept through the starting pistol, now he better run.

Maybe that's what Freshman year in college is about?
Stumbling, until - with luck - you get it figured out.

Freshman year in college? I think Sai King describes it well in Hearts in Atlantis :cheerful:

Pick a finger? Better than
:pick_nose:

So Thursday already?

We went out for Chinese yesterday and couldn't eat it all - had to ask for a doggy bag :dog:

Today I work the 4:30 to 11 shift then 2:30 to 10:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Andy has an appointment at Cancer Care for a check-up today in the afternoon - I hope it is okay and the doctor is happy with him.

Guess I'll go do some chores - laundry etc. - it's another nice warm day here today - might go sit on the deck for a spell

Love and Green Lights to all!
