I'm 10% Scandinavian! I want this outfit.
Including the hat? or do you prefer it without as Madeleine does?
Since you are interested. here are both the male and female version. It is the official swedish national custume. Each region also has a custume (other colours mostly). They stem from the time shortly before the industrial revolution but the official custome is a composition that is a little younger, about 1900.

I would probably go without the hat, but I love the vibrant blue and yellow.

Are you working at Disney World, Sisterwife? That would be fun. It's the happiest place. No fingernail polish though. No potty mouth. Tell me about the underground when you're back. You could be an animated doll for Sweden in It's A Small World.

I love the picture below with the woman watering her garden - I haven't checked it out but that looks like the mom from Six Feet Under (and many other things), is that her?

This morning I went into my garden at 7:15am. Next thing I know it's 9am and I'm going to be 2 hours late for work. My garden is not big. I just play in the dirt and get lost in time. I'm either going to have to retire early or get it under control. There are worse things to be addicted to though. I'm having the best time.

Hello, dear friends.
Popping in to say Hi, hope everybody is well.
We are doing OK, except for my mom who is not doing good, she hasn`t left the house in months by now.
Still able to walk the short distance to the bathroom, but that`s where it ends.
Wishing you all a lot of love and health, everything else is less important.
You are always on my mind.

Thank you, dear Spidey.
I am taking care of myself, even though it`s a bit unusual how...
I`ve been a little depressed the last few months, I dunno, strange thoughts are creeping into my mind sometimes, well, not strange, just thoughts of illnesses, dying and similar not very uplifting stuff.
My mom`s health is of course, not helping.
And I had a very hard time when Chris Cornell died, that was and still is a hard one on me, and many others, I`m sure.
So, whenever I feel the depression creeping in, which is basically daily - I work out.
Hard and long, I make my body so tired that I simply can`t think of anything else but sleep, come the early hours of the evening.
Hence...I don`t think I have been in a better shape ever in my life, nor healthier. Lost a few pounds in the process again, now I weigh what I weighed when I was 18. Ideal weight. Blood tests turn out fantastic, they simply can`t be better.
And today is also 150 days without a drop of alcohol, so, that keeps me going, too.
One day at a time, like they say.
Thanks again, hope you are doing well.

Almost forgot - there is one thing that makes me VERY happy.
Mr King is coming to Toronto, come October, and I will do everything in my power to be there.
Well, I will be there, even if I have to be outside if I miss the tickets by some miracle.
But I`m gonna do everything I can to see the genius that made my life so much richer.
:)

Keep with the positives, and it is awesome about the alcohol free. Sending love and green lights your way!!

Good morning!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Busy busy here. I ended up making 2 cakes for Brandon's party. The first one was a total fail! It went together nice, was straight when I started frosting it but by the time I was done, it looked like the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Only worse. ;-D

Marti said it was fine but I stewed over it and decided to start over. I used whipped cream on top instead of frosting the second time, just to make it lighter. And used dowels, which I skipped the first time because all the cakes baked nice and they set together nice and flat, I thought the frosting would be enough glue to hold them in place. But I was wrong!! Here is the finished 2nd cake...

(I resized it so hope it is ok)

Anyway, not a perfect effort. But much better than my first one. And it seemed to be a hit. Everyone liked it, and they loved eating it, there is none left. Haha. Had to use a piece of the dowel to hold the handle up, too, the fondant did not harden even though I had it in the fridge overnight.

I'm beat today! Not planning on doing a whole lot.

Have a great day! Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:
Wow that is a great cake! Makes me want a beer and normally I just drink wine :biggrin2:

Thanks for asking, Neesy! It's totally fine. The place where I got the novocaine is the only thing that's a little tender, but barely noticeable. :biggrin2:
Ish! I always hear the novocaine being squeezed into my mouth. I really hate the roof of the mouth shots. Glad you recovered nicely.

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday Andy slept for 19 hours (I am not making this up) - he went to bed Friday night around 10:30 (I was at work until 11 so we had just spoke on the phone).

The next day I was up early but let him sleep - well he slept all right!

He finally got up around 5:30 p.m.!!!
Oh man! That's some good sleep! Yay, Andy's home!!! Did I read somewhere that he washed your hair outside? That's hot.

Back to work tomorrow. I took last week off to attend our daughter's graduation from college (Linfield College. McMinnville, Oregon). Our son took ten days leave and for a few days the family was back together. Oh and I finally decided it was time. So I read The Gunslinger during that trip and I'm now half-way through The Drawing of the Three. Can you believe that I've never actually read the Darktower books? Oh sure I know what happens, but I've never just read them. Well that's going to change. I might just spend the $80.00 and buy the boxed set on Amazon.
Welcome to the Tower, friend! I put it off until 2012, and then that's about all I read for 2 years.

Great cake, cat!!

:grinning:
Oldest son is now a graduate of Plymouth State.
Might have had a bumpy start but - Wow! - he finished great:
Straight As... Now he's planning on a graduate degree.
He is proving quite the credit to our family tree.
Bravo, MrsSmeej's son!

Good to see you, Srbo! 150 days is awesome. In spite of the sadness, you sound strong. I'll keep you and your mom in my prayers.

Bravo, MrsSmeej's son!
....Congrats to the progeny MrsSmeej!.....

Great cake, Cat.

Congrats Mrs. Smeej

Congrats to your son. Be proud, mom!

Thank you! We're so happy for him... If a bit surprised.
We were worried at the start but then he realized
College life is easier than working every day
At a job that wouldn't offer all that much in pay.

He's a lucky SoB because his father paid
And we'll help with law school, too. The kid has got it made.
Hopefully, our youngest son will also do as well.
Right now, though, he's in the midst of his own bumpy spell.

Smart but really lazy is how I'd describe my son.
He slept through the starting pistol, now he better run.
Maybe that's what Freshman year in college is about?
Stumbling, until - with luck - you get it figured out.
