Hi there.
Hope you enjoyed the Eclipse, watched it on Nasa Tv.

Does anybody live in the Core Zone ?
Watched on TV too. Not in core zone, had 80% between clouds. Most noticeable was the shadows changing.

Well happy eclipse to those of you who are still waiting for it to happen! I wish I had known beforehand we weren't going to get very dark. Oh well. :biggrin2:

Was a lazy weekend here for me. I went to the doc Friday over my neck pain and headaches. Was told my neck and shoulder muscles were very inflamed. So I'm taking steroids for the inflammation and a muscle relaxer.

Seems to be helping. No headaches for a couple days, just kind of a sensation of pressure. I just hope whatever is causing the inflammation gets taken care of 100%. I have been pretty miserable at times the last few months.

So back to the chores, now that the excitement is mostly over. Tomorrow is the first day of school for us.

Have a good rest of your day! Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:
...ain't stress grand???.....:oh:

I have been chomping at the bit to share some good news with you all, was waiting for the official announcement...it is out now, so....

I told you that Brandon and Marti went to Montana for a few days. Well, he proposed and she said yes!

I am so happy to officially welcome Marti and Sage to the family. :applause:

We knew he was going to, he told us a week ago what the plan was. He used a ring that was mine. It was a long week, and especially long weekend, waiting to hear the news! They were on a hike and stopped in front of some waterfalls, and that's where he got down on one knee and popped the question.

So very happy for them and the kiddos too. :love_heart:

And so excited to share the news with you all!

My grandfather gave me some green peppers tonight. As I was cutting them I wondered to myself, "these are too small to be bell peppers". I continued to slice them and remove the seeds as I pondered their curious booty tips, similar color to green bell peppers. Ten minutes later after I tossed them in a Ziploc bag and put them in the freezer I began to feel an intense burning in my outer nostril, my upper lip, my...other places my hand came into contact. It is a fierce burning and it won't go away. What the heck kind of peppers did he give me? Are jalapeño peppers that hot? Does a person have to wash their hands after cutting them? This is nuts! Thanks for any help you can offer.

I did Google remedies and people said use milk.

It is desirable to use rubber gloves when slicing and seeding that type of pepper. Being cautious while removing the gloves!

Thank you, Spidey. Lesson learned. :cower:
The milk is helping take away the sting.
I shared a pic to show what they look like. They were a hybrid, I'm assuming. They were slightly smaller than bell peppers and had a bent, tapering tip.

In my experience, jalapeno peppers from the garden are the exact same color as green bell peppers. (Like you said, a pointier tip.) But green bell peppers from the garden never seem to be as large as the ones in the supermarket, so might be easy to confuse. I used to just wash my hands thoroughly after handling jalapenos. My skin is more sensitive now, so I started using gloves when I seed them. Don't know about the milk, but have had positive results by washing and rewashing hands with a very mild hand soap and using a fragrance-free lotion afterward.

Could they be poblano peppers? I use jalapeño and Serrano peppers and learned the hard way to wear gloves. I was forewarned to wash my hands well, and I did, but some of the oil was still on my fingers the next morning when I put my contacts in. It was like a mini nuclear explosion in my eyeball. Had to actually soak my contact in milk to be able to wear them.

I don't know. I'm still looking on websites and my grandfather is blithely ignorant of what he's planting. He just loves growing stuff. Heck, he's probably got marijuana plants in his backyard and eating it in a salad, ha.
The half gallon of milk and I had a special moment in the shower. Man, glad it isn't just me. How long did your eyes burn? I think it's finally subsiding.
