A couple of young people made an old lady very happy tonight. But since it was their first time seeing it, I thin they're too scarred to take me again next year. So I made the most of it.

I warned them that some of the stuff that's standard to say is pretty raunchy, so I didn['t want to hear any, "I CAN'T WATCH THIS WITH MY MOM," crap from them. They were warned! It actually went very well & we had a great time. Plan is to go again next year, but to watch the movie with me at home first so I can teach them the standard responses--lol.

Yay on getting the job offer! I think that you should go for it. The new place sounds wonderful. Just leaving the discord from your current place behind will do wonders for your mental and physical health. Just for that reason alone...your level of peace will increase and influence all other areas of your life in a positive way. You went over all of your requirements, such as needing to have a flexible schedule and having your daughter with you at certain times, which the owner was agreeable with, huge bonus right there. I have a feeling 2 new clients a week will be a cinch for you.

It's definitely doable with my schedule. They're open until 8 five days a week. Most of the stylists set their own hours, so I could offer two late days like I do now. I'm even willing to work one Saturday a month if it will increase my client base.
If I choose the commission option, I will be given a schedule during the busiest days and times in order to boost the clientele faster.
Do you think you will have some of your clients from where you work now follow you to Changes? As well as new ones?
I'm sure that most of my clients will go with me.
Any time you change salons, you will lose a few clients, it's just the way it is.....but the majority will come with me. I've counted five guys that will surprise me if they come.....because they are related to the salon owner's clients.
Definitely. I did that almost five years ago when I came back to hairstyling after my divorce.That's good then. Certainly better than starting out with none!
I agree that showing yourself flexible and willing to please is crucial at first, a smart and important thing to do.
