I'm sure that most of my clients will go with me.
Any time you change salons, you will lose a few clients, it's just the way it is.....but the majority will come with me. I've counted five guys that will surprise me if they come.....because they are related to the salon owner's clients.

Another factor- we are going into the holiday season, so that means more getting their hair done for each and every social party/event. That might offset the increase in rent for a month or so-- then you can re adjust your budget- allow for that extra $28 a month. Having your own schedule and hours is a real perk. As Tina said- the less stress alone will help so much. Calmer, more energy, better health. Sending guidance vibes.

Hi Tet.

I must get over this. I spent this morning packing up all of Maggie's toys. I need touch up paint. The stinker... scratched up more than me. Land Shark when you least expect it. ouch! And a look from her..

A run away with toilet paper,, A take away game with anything she knew that I would sigh and play it.

I still can not take a shower without looking to see when she will jump in. But she is not here anymore.

I will go and donate her stuff.

It is a new month, and I am sure she is very happy.

Please, watch this, it made me feel a little better. her birthday was yesterday.

Sunny, have you figured out the wine budget? Or is that supplied by Changes?

:very_drunk:
That's one of the perks!!!......they supply the wine, as well as soft drinks, tea and coffee. :D

They also supply all the back bar shampoos, conditioners, treatments, towels, etc. My current salon requires us to split the cost of stocking those items. My bill for shampoo and conditioner last time was $45.....I don't use that much shampoo in a year.

Last night, I had the second interview with the owner of the salon I really liked. I still love the place. The owner is really young, but she's smart and she is organized and knows how to manage a business.
We sat down and talked about everything.....she told me that she had talked extensively with one of the stylists there who knows me, and she would love to have me there. She thinks I will be very happy working there. My booth can be ready by the first week in December.

Biggest major concern.....the rent is on the pricey side at $150 per week.

Major Pros.....there is significant opportunity for growth and gaining new clients, and she's willing to let me start out on commission if I'm not comfortable with the rent right away, she's extremely understanding of my situation with needing scheduling flexibility, and having my daughter there after school on later work nights is not a problem.......and major plus.....there is zero drama in this salon. When issues come up, the people involved sit down and talk about it like adults and solve the problem together. I've talked to two of the stylists who work there, and they both tell me the same thing.....zero drama. It has to be a great place, because no one ever seems to leave the salon to seek employment elsewhere.

I told her that I need some time to think about it, and crunch the numbers around in my head. She asked me to take a week or so, and to please call her with any other questions or concerns that I might come up with. She also encouraged me to contact any of the stylists and ask them anything.

So now, the sleepless nights begin......I have a huge decision to make. I'm leaning toward making the move.
The name of the salon is Changes.....I'm thinking that a change just might do me good.
good luck! i know whatever you decide will work out!

So the money saved could help a little to make up the rental difference?
