The newly crowned New England Patriots, who won the American football Super Bowl last night. The victor's city always holds a parade for the team when they return, a few days after the game. :)
There's supposed to be a parade in Boston to celebrate the New England Patriots winning the SuperBowl.
Oh, thanks. Since that sport is almost nonexistant here it was not a big thing so didn't get it. But i do know what the Super Bowl is.

Well, it looks like I'm off the hook for doing face painting at that local woman's memorial benefit. The people running it asked me weeks ago if I'd do face painting to keep the kiddos entertained and I agreed on the spot. I bought forty bucks worth of face paints and supplies. Then, this morning, less than a week before the memorial, they tell me that Hubbles the clown decided to do face painting, so I don't have to do it, but they're sure they can use me elsewhere. Gee, thanks. Maybe I can hand out plates of food. I told them that I'll show up and buy a dinner, support the family and hope they enjoy the artwork, but not to count on using me elsewhere. I'll save my stuff and sell face painting at the harvest festival.

OK. Gotta ask. Have bought In the Tall Grass and Mile 81. Are they good? Also thinking about UR.... I know, i know, i'm weak but it is tempting but getting this tablet was nothing i planned. I got the Tablet and a little computer thingy as a bonus as a thank you for switching from an operator to another. The cost for both was about 20 US dollars so i thought what the heck, if they practically throwing the things at me why not take them? Right?

Before my time as his P.A. so I'd have to check but it doesn't quite fit the description he gave of the area he was living in when he got the news that Carrie had been bought for publication. He mentioned having gone across the street to a drug store to buy a hair dryer for Tabby but that area doesn't have any stores like that. Who is saying that's where he lived?

Does this help?
King had broken through. The $2500 advance wasn’t huge—not enough to quit teaching and pursue writing full time—but it was the most money he had ever made from writing. King used the advance to buy a shiny Ford Pinto and moved his family out of the trailer and into a dumpy four-room apartment in Bangor, Maine. They suddenly had money for groceries. They even could afford a telephone.

King hoped that fat royalty checks would keep replenishing his bank account, but Carrie only sold 13,000 copies as a hardback, tepid sales that convinced him to grudgingly sign a new teaching contract for the 1974 school year. He started a new novel called The House on Value Street, and, by Mother’s Day, he figured Carrie had run its course. It was the last thing on his mind.

One phone call changed all that. It was Bill Thompson again. “Are you sitting down?” he asked.

King was home alone, standing in the doorway between his kitchen and living room. “Do I need to?” he said.

“You might," Thompson said. "The paperback rights to Carrie went to Signet Books for $400,000 ... 200K of it’s yours. Congratulations, Stephen.”

King’s legs wobbled and gave out. He sat on the floor, shaking with excitement from winning the literary lottery—and there was no one home to share the news with. Tabby had taken both kids to their grandmother’s house. To celebrate, he felt compelled to buy Tabby a Mother’s Day present. He wanted to buy her something luxurious, something unforgettable. King raced to downtown Bangor. It was Sunday and every shop was closed except for a drug store. So he bought Tabby the best thing he could find—a hairdryer.

Well, it could be both. Sort of. It says that they were in the trailer when he first got the news about Carrie getting picked up, and with that money, they moved into an apartment, and that's where they were when they got the news that the paperback rights got sold for 400 grand, half of which was Steve's. But there's nothing saying that house was where the apartment was.

Looks like the U.P. Set of steps off to the side there...almost looks like a siding break. Is that sandstone on the foundation? Many of the houses I work on look like that. Had to move away, come back, before I realized I grew up in a Finnish ghetto. Now I live in French gulley...in other news: Procrastinators Unite! Viva la revolution!...after a nap. Getting some work done here on our shack...that's been 12 years in the making. I don't procrastinate when I work for others...just at home here...I've got a truly forgiving wife. She's incredible. Guess I best save up for roses.
