Because Nathan Fillion is rather on the heavy side himself! (He is not a professional Elvis).Why, oh why, are all Elvis impersonators doing him him in his later years when he was rather heavy. And not the slimhipped Elvis i want to remember.
This is just from an episode of his show "Castle" where they went down to Vegas to investigate a crime.
I have seen some Elvis impersonators and they have all done Elvis in his later years. Are their impersonators that do him as he was in the late 50-ties? The Jailhouse Rock-Elvis? I haven't seen them.
Most impersonators are probably drawn by the flashy costumes, jewelry etc. that Elvis was known for in his later years.
And the sun glasses.......
One thing i do know. He might be able to look like Elvis but Depp has no singer talent what so ever. He was a total disaster in that Sweeney Todd musical movie. All the other actors sang him out of court. He should never have taken that part.Maybe if they cleaned Johnny Depp up with some slicked black hair, tight leather pants etc. he could do it. I bet he could even get the little lip curl right!
