I love well-worn, pre-loved books, with writing on the pages and names and phone numbers sribbled inside the cover. Makes me imagine who this person is, when they read the book, what they thought. To me store-bought, brand-new copies are rather sterile compared, although they smell and feel lovely, I also prefer the older cover-art usually, the retro, hand-drawn quality...I also love browned, faded and spotty pages, that crackle when you turn them...so much fun, all part of the reading experience for me...and I love to hunt them out - markets, op shops, second hand bookshops, on line shopping sites and library sales (just purchased a copy, in hardback of Just Before Sunset, for $1.00...), from my local library. Bargain!!
