We got our plane tickets today !!! We are Ohio bound. We are bringing Jeff's daughter with us, she will be staying with her grandparents while we cavort about ...
...Salt Fork, is a State Park about 15 minutes from where we live, which puts it about 3 hours from the site of the Kon...the Lodge and golf course are beautiful, as of course is the lake itself...Should I drive or fly? I can't decide dammit!! HELP!!!
Scott, the Salt Fork Park nearby looks very nice... elaborate please...
You are travelling three hours to be at the site of the Kon? Is this to avoid "kitchen visits"? What if SK drops in!...Salt Fork, is a State Park about 15 minutes from where we live, which puts it about 3 hours from the site of the Kon...the Lodge and golf course are beautiful, as of course is the lake itself...
...I'll let him see OUR kitchen...and yeah, we are in SE Ohio, the Kon is in North Central-and about 2 and a half hours from our place, but a pleasant drive...and the fact that we used to live in that area, makes it old hat...You are travelling three hours to be at the site of the Kon? OK I guess I am confused. maybe I didn't read everything in the thread or perhaps I was in full Todash for awhile, but if I was going to rent a hotel in the center of all the activities, what town should I look to? I had thought the prison was a trip away, but for the most part we'd be hanging near the giant's castle, in full bean stalk mode... No?...Salt Fork, is a State Park about 15 minutes from where we live, which puts it about 3 hours from the site of the Kon...the Lodge and golf course are beautiful, as of course is the lake itself...

Okie dokey - I am geographically challenged being from way up north in the boonies...I'll let him see OUR kitchen...and yeah, we are in SE Ohio, the Kon is in North Central-and about 2 and a half hours from our place, but a pleasant drive...and the fact that we used to live in that area, makes it old hat...
Try the Travelodge in Mansfield Ohio - we made our reservations there back in March - my confirmation slip is at work and I have today off (they owed me a day) so I can't look at it but it was only about 53 bucks a night (including taxes). We booked for four days so we might have got a reduced rate???OK I guess I am confused. maybe I didn't read everything in the thread or perhaps I was in full Todash for awhile, but if I was going to rent a hotel in the center of all the activities, what town should I look to? Gosh - I hope we changed our minds on the Country Inn and Suites cuz if so then I must change our reservation - although it looked like a more luxurious hotel it was also about 100 bucks a night.Mansfield, Ohio would be the city.
I haven't gone through all the posts- but this is what Scott has said :
I am planning on trying to get Tracy and I into the Country Inn and Suites...we've stayed there before...rooms are nice, breakfast in the AM and it's right in the heart of all the shopping...
...my plan is, is for Tracy and I to get our room and try to work a deal with the hotel to use a small meeting room, and make that our base of operations-so that we have somebody there to greet everyone as they come in-or at least know where to find us...
Hope that helps, Hoss
