Haven't watched them for the last 14 years. It is crap and boring. I've seen some movies that win and they aren't good. I think the standard of movie making in Hollywood has deteriorated and most of the time it's just the superhero stuff. The movie companies are slowly dieting out. The only actor of note that I have met in person was Frank Thring.

I wouldn't even call it that, but I can see why you do by the very definition of dark comedy. I felt it was more a social commentary.
Agree. Like you said, the TSA agent had a few funny lines, but the movie as a whole was a dark horror story. From a review by David Sims:
“Indeed, the film cleverly uses the horror genre to amplify America’s ingrained racism, exploring subjects such as cultural appropriation and the dark legacy of slavery via Chris’s battle of wills with Missy and Dean.”

In the deaths memorandum, ADAM WEST snubbed ... Oh, f-ck no.

And they included ... Chuck friggin Berry! Of course! Known as America's black John Gielgud! What a thespian! Right? So many great film performances! I was happy to see Roger Moore. But not West?! the gods weep.

They left out so many good actors!

From an article I read:
The 2018 Oscars “In Memoriam” segment got an “incomplete” grade from fans after stars including Adam West, Glen Campbell and David Cassidy were left out of the prestigious montage.

Watchers on social media were quick to point out West, known for playing Batman in the 1960s TV series, was snubbed in the segment. West died last June after battling leukemia.

Campbell, who died last August at 81, starred in the 1969 film “True Grit” and was nominated for best original song, "I'm Not Going to Miss You," in 2015.

Other people left out of the “In Memoriam” segment included “Harlem Nights” actress Della Reese, “The Lion King” actor Robert Guillaume, “Frasier” star John Mahoney, Jim Nabors of “Gomer Pyle,” “The Partridge Family” star David Cassidy, “Magnum P.I.” actor John Hillerman, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” director Tobe Hooper, “Written on the Wind” actress Dorothy Malone, and “House of Cards” actor Reg. E. Cathey.

Some people also argued that “M*A*S*H” star David Ogden Stiers should have been honored in the segment, though he died a day before the awards show. However, the Oscars did manage to add Bill Paxton into last year's “In Memoriam,” who also died a day before the 2017 Academy Awards.

My mother (weekly phone call) just told me Jim Nabors died tonight. I had no idea! I never heard anything. John Mahoney was certainly a film actor. He did a nice parody of Falkner in Barton Fink, and did a great small part in Moonstruck. And I can't believe John Hillerman and especially Tobe Hooper were left out! They've become a mean little organization. They've gone heavy on technitions & film editors. :a17: And leave little room for actors they don't deem relevant.

As far as Christopher Plummer, if he didn't give the best performance, I don't want him getting the pity Oscar.

I honestly did not see his performance, so it's hard to judge - I just like him and saw him in a movie with Diane Lane called Must Love Dogs (2005). He also reminded me of my Dad, who passed away a few years ago.

Anyway, I see he DID win an Oscar back in 2012, so I feel a bit better now!

He played a "ladies man" and was good with Stockard Channing

He's also very good in Delores Claiborne. He holds his own against Kathy Bates.

And Powers Boothe! Danie, we talked about Powers Boothe! One of my very favorite actors. Why was he left out? Watch 'The Emerald Forrest' if you get a chance. He was fantastic in that. Powers was married to the same woman from 1969 until his death in 2017! He played some bastards, but I assumed he was more the soft spoken Texas gentleman he most often portrayed early in his career. I do get some comfort that Adam West was mentioned first in all the Oscar outrage stories I've seen. Even before Tobe Hooper. Julie Newmar's Catwoman once called him the 'big blue dragon'. Let your bat light shine big blue dragon!

I thought the Oscars was dull . Jimmy Kimmel was great last year, not sure what happened this year. I thought Get Out would win best picture, at least Jordan Peele got one for best original screenplay. Haven't seen The Shape of Water yet seems like a strange movie.

I liked the Oscars when Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg hosted it. Why can't the Oscars be shorter it was sooooooo long as usual, even though Kimmel tried to get them to make shorter speeches with a bribe which I already knew wasn't going to work .

The Oscars needs shaking up.
