I've shredded the roof of my mouth with crusty French bread.
Brain freezes with ice cream. Not fun.
Been too close to the Truvia sachet while opening it, and inhaled Truvia. Also not fun.
A friend of mine insisted on helping me with dinner when he was visiting. I was making Mexican food and part of it required several chopped jalapeños. He wanted to do the cutting, but instead of using a knife and a fork (no plastic gloves in the house), he used his fingers and a knife. I warned him about the capsaicin in the pepper oils, and argued with him until I lost.
He used both hands to put the pepper into whatever it was that was cooking, and about 5 minutes later, said "my hands are on fire".
I got him outside to the patio and shook baby powder (cornstarch) onto his hands and told him to wait it out. The cornstarch helped and he has not used his bare hands to handle hot peppers since.
