I can't explain this. Can anyone else? This really has me puzzled. Maybe Jordan or Brian can explain.

SETUP - Around 15 years ago, I purchased a Pioneer cd recorder. This was a stand alone unit that I hooked up to my stereo system. There was no computer hookup or wireless hookup or any way that this deck connected to the internet. What I used this deck for mostly was to record my vinyl albums to cd. I connected analog cables from my turntable to this deck and would play an album and record to cd. There was no text information for this manual way of recording. If I wanted to include breaks between the songs, I had to manually push a button when the silence occurred between the tracks.

FAST FORWARD TO THIS MORNING - I have a blu-ray player in my bedroom that connects to the internet with wi-fi. I usually listen to music with this blu-ray player when I get ready in the morning and if you put a cd, dvd or blu-ray in, the unit connects with gracepoint and downloads information from the disc and displays in on the TV. So anyway, this morning I stick in one of these cds that I made from a vinyl album and I hop in the shower. When I get out of the shower, I glance up at the TV screen and there is a picture of the album that is playing with track info. So my question is: How in the hell could gracepoint identify an album that I recorded manually like that?

Candido Godoi, Brazil

Nazi doctor Josef Mengele fled to this part of Brazil after World War II. He was said to have a thing for twins. Oddly, this town now produces 18 times the amount of twins compared to anywhere else in the world.

There is a book about this I read. I think it was one of Jeffery Deaver's more recent Agent Pendergast books. It was very interesting.
