Truly grateful to see another one of these things...

My day has been a melancholy one however. Took my youngest to college today.

Yeah I cried...

What?

Oh man! That's a terrible way to spend a birthday! I did the same thing in 2010 - took our oldest to UT Knox on my birthday. No one remembered it was my birthday until my mom called while we were on the road. I cried for 2 solid days. Over leaving her, not because of the forgotten birthday.

My two older children texted me while we were driving to deliver turdhead to place of higher learning...

Even youngest, while hugging me, said sorry about your birthday...

Not much celebrating but the trade off was I got to send hopefully, for the third time, one of my children toward a better life...

If that doesn't fill you full of pride, well you just ain't doing something right.

If all I am remembered for, after I stop having birthdays, is three college educated, well adjusted and thought of offspring then I believe I can rest easy...

Think a lot of my children. Can you tell?
