So I live in the UK but I'm coming to America in April I'm a lifelong fan of Mr King and feel as though I already know Maine in a dreamy kind of way! Can anyone give me any advice where to stay and visit etc? I'm so excited!!!

You could eat some lobster (lobstrocities?) as apparently East coast lobsters are very tastySo I live in the UK but I'm coming to America in April I'm a lifelong fan of Mr King and feel as though I already know Maine in a dreamy kind of way! ...The Standpipe is quite imposing when "right up close" even for someone of my mutant stature....You can build an underground clubhouse. You can cause a flooding of the river and get Officer Nell ticked off. I would prefer to stay a night in the standpipe though.
...and they're embarrassed when bumrushed by a GNT and publicly smooched...I’ve always avoided Maine for health reasons. I’ve found some of the women there can be quite malicious and scary at times. Apparently some even have chainsaws and wood-chippers... and aren’t afraid to use them.
Or better yet, box some of that snow up from the back yard (I'm 99.9% sure we'll still have plenty) like that guy who's selling it in Boston, and take it with you!Shovel Ms. Mod's driveway....
Any way you could put off coming until a little later, say after mid-May? April is not a particularly nice time of year weather-wise in Maine on the best of years and this year I have a feeling spring will be coming even later than usual. What sorts of things were you hoping to see/do, i.e. are you trying to see things that are directly related to Steve's books or just visit places of interest in Maine? So I live in the UK but I'm coming to America in April I'm a lifelong fan of Mr King and feel as though I already know Maine in a dreamy kind of way! Yes, she lives here as do several other authors, some not quite as well-known as either Steve or Tess Gerritsen.I'd like to visit Nova Scotia but that would be a Trailer Park Boy trip ; )
Isn't Tess Gerritson also from Maine? Definitely something in the water!

Yeah and you can go to the place with some of the best seafood in the world and have pizza like the Giant did... LOL...I have been there...it is BEAUTIFUL...not sure what you're looking to do, but Bangor has many places to stay and eat-it's all individual choice...the downtown is chock full of eclectic places to shop...and the SK bus tour is very entertaining....use this link for more fleshed out detail....
