I was just reading an article from some nonsense publication about how King has some concerns over his legacy. Full disclosure: I am new to this forum and have no idea of the rules or culture here, but I have been moved to declare these sentiments anywhere they may be publicly read.
Stephen King, if you are reading, your legacy is secured. As a lifelong reader and fan, I feel more kinship with Joe Hill as a sibling as I do my actual siblings. You are a fine writer, an excellent storyteller, and a surrogate parent to me in a way I will ever be able to express. I have been a faithful reader since the early 80's when I was no more than wee. I know that I am not an anomaly and that this surely a widespread phenomenon. Elitist critics be damned, your writing and its impact on my entire generation is your legacy. Good job and thank you, sir.
