I love it! Someday, when I'm all grown up, I'll have the time and (hopefully the skill) to create such a display, it's like a shadow box. Reminds me of creating displays in mall store windows.
Only this has a Ray Bradbury tribute -yet -to-be-seen?!
I love creativity. Wow!

Thanks. As for the Ray Bradbury tribute sculpture, I started it the summer he died and continued adding since. I did post some photos online but don't think I shared any here. Meanwhile it's taken some damage with weather and so on. I have many components to expand and improve it, but due to circumstances have been able only to assemble parts, not put it all together. It looks unlikely to be done this year so anticipating spring!

Excellent!!! You are near Oxford? Just a jaunt south of me. I like Oxford. Warm beer, cold liquor, lots of literary types. Adorable child!
Just south of Oxford at a crossroads called Toccopola. You are Sardis? Senatobia? Anyway we may have sat in the Library together whether the bar or the real one and not known it.

And CoriSCapnSkip, you will like that we are introducing the "these are the dead mans eyes" game to the kiddies this Halloween. One day when they read Bradbury's "October Game" they will feel the full impact of the denouement.

And Nomik, I may be out of the game for quite awhile but I could have sworn the answer should have been "I like my eggs over easy" to your mystery question.

As for poison, well give me all your poison-

By the way, Scratch is always closer than you think.

That is outstanding Cori!! Very creative - I love it. Would so love to see your Ray Bradbury tribute too.

Thanks, Holly! This is the best picture showing most of the whole thing from right after it was assembled in 2012. I had some help from my handyman Darrell on securing pieces but I collected all the driftwood, designed and decorated it myself. That is the house next door, not mine, in the background. Most of the pieces have fallen off the bat wind chime since then. If you look closely at my Halloween window display, the arms and hands were used for pumpkin head guy. The mummy also came off and needs touching up, so I took it in and it also appears in the window display.

I didn't completely realize until I looked after assembling it, but the lower parts of the sculpture reveal Ray's roots--literary influences, with Charles Dickens characters, images from his trip to Mexico, and The Wizard of Oz, then moves up to Ray as a child surrounded by his own literary creations, topped with the Halloween tree! I think it's pretty awesome but have plans to make it even moreso.

Then, you must be standing in line at the Arizona Field of Screams with Daniel and I right now!

Maybe not so much the video as the haunting quality and lyrics of the song itself .....

My best friend in college and roommate, "John", could sing JUST LIKE this guy but only when he was high....which was most of the time...so there's that. It became a running joke for years afterwards. We used to say "John's going to go Glenn Danzig on you if you don't shut up."...lol
