Thanks, Holly! This is the best picture showing most of the whole thing from right after it was assembled in 2012. I had some help from my handyman Darrell on securing pieces but I collected all the driftwood, designed and decorated it myself. That is the house next door, not mine, in the background. Most of the pieces have fallen off the bat wind chime since then. If you look closely at my Halloween window display, the arms and hands were used for pumpkin head guy. The mummy also came off and needs touching up, so I took it in and it also appears in the window display.

I didn't completely realize until I looked after assembling it, but the lower parts of the sculpture reveal Ray's roots--literary influences, with Charles Dickens characters, images from his trip to Mexico, and The Wizard of Oz, then moves up to Ray as a child surrounded by his own literary creations, topped with the Halloween tree! I think it's pretty awesome but have plans to make it even moreso.

That is lovely! Brilliant creative outlet! I need to do something like that - perhaps in honor of my beloved dead. I'll think hard on it. Thanks for sharing this!

Some areas of the garden besides this are also memorials. There are the statues of Ray and Peter Pan, and one representing Alexei Romanov, the son and heir of Tsar Nicholas II, with his dog Joy, as well as an area by the front gate for a friend of ours. I am working on one for my uncle I hope to complete next year. Thanks for your positive comments.

Here's the pumpkin my son carved.

For anyone that doesn't play video games. It's Majora's Mask. The light I bought changes colours, red green and blue, which actually goes with the design. He did an awesome job. A girl dressed as Link (main character from the same series of video games) was absolutely thrilled when she saw it. I think she wanted to take our pumpkin.
That pumpkin - to me my first thought was "Aboriginal or First Nations" - he did an excellent job! =D (I do not know who "Majora" is)

Some people are not "getting" his costume. The little boy is The Little Prince. Daddy is the pilot from the same book. It is a French children's story.

I have tried to post a picture, but it just won't work. If you Google Majora's Mask you can see what it's based on. And I would say for it to remind you of First Nations makes sense with the character, or...when the character wears the mask.

Yep I know The Little Prince well. Such a charming story. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly....................
