Agree with all this. I will hang in there, but it didn't grab me like the first season did.It was an okay episode. I loved that they did a little misdirection with the taped interview at the beginning making you think they were going in that direction from the first season. They also teased the McConaughey/Harrelson car ride scene when the cop asked the lady cop about her family until she cut him off.
I thought the pacing was a little too fast. The big difference is that they have more central characters this season instead of two so they can't spend too much time on one person like last season.

They don't take the time to really get into these types of character interactions:
Woody and Matthew set the bar pretty high.
I know - they're just the dream team - they work so well together. Last season will be hard to top.woh woh woh there is no mathew or woody ppppppffffffffffffffffffffff?
Well said, I had to watch it twice (I hate doing that!) just to be sure I understood what happened and who's who. We seem to have 4 main players we've got to keep up with.It was an okay episode. Wow... Towards the end of the episode I was thinking how great Colin Farrell is in this role and then the ending happens. I'd be surprised if he's still alive, but we'll see.
Total shocker. Too bad since I found his character the most interesting. I have found this season kind of slow, still beautifully shot and stunning, but I think the plot isn't working for me just yet, Iit's just slowly building up.think
I think the problem is the acting. Mainly, Vince Vaughn trying not to be Vince Vaughn isn't working. If someone else was able to carry the weight of that role, the show would be much better.
Any chance that was abean bag rifle or something non-lethal?
I agree about Vince Vaughn--I can never quite see him as a "serious" actor, i.e. in a dramatic role :/ Again, Colin Farrel is great as Ray. McAdams and Kitcsh--I like them both as actors--don't know if it's their characters--or as you said, the acting--but I'm having trouble "figuring" out their characters, as I'm feeling "nothing" towards them yet...the season just started so maybe my mind will change then!
It's possible. I would just wonder why he was shot when he was already down, though the shooter didn't go for the head.

I got the impression that was some kind of fetish parlor. Maybe inflicting pain is part of the game.
To tell the truth, I was nearly falling asleep until that happened.Wow... Towards the end of the episode I was thinking how great Colin Farrell is in this role and then the ending happens. I'd be surprised if he's still alive, but we'll see.
Yep. This is one time I'm going to say,Could be...The most interesting part of series, thus far.
I didn't get to watch last season except for episode one. Somehow I got sidetracked and was unable to continue watching.
I think I would have liked the first season since it seemed to be a serial killer type of show. This new season about factories and land-ownings and business is dry and not too interesting to me.
