It's just television, folks. Maybe it didn't hit the heights of the book (rare for films, rarer for television) but I keep watching "just one more"...I'll be back next year. At any rate, the guy who plays Big Jim, what a fine actor! He has definitely been a highlight.

Probably won't be back for UTD 3 and on-the-fence for "Resurrection". Too manu questions and too few answers for both series.

So...watched ep2. I can finally get to the ones I recorded and skip through the ads now (rather than endure 5 minutes in every 20 of exactly the same ads that the viewer won't let me skip).
Seems from here as though they're going to slow the pace right down, delve into internal politics with lots of 'who can you trust?' backstabby moments - moreso than in S1, and basically do UTD's equivalent of TWD's 'an eternity of viewing is a couple of days on the farm' S2. And seriously, I nearly called it quits on TWD in S2. (Though if the pattern holds, S3 of UTD will be an improvement, and a pretty big one at that.)
As for all the "One of us is a murderer" stuff. Well, a) durr! No BS! and b) if only they had a CSI... ;;D

I just cant imagine they wont have a Season 3 in some capacity. Unless the deal with Amazon is over and Amazon isn't interested in renewing. TV numbers dropped off significantly since season 1 and should drop more if it continues, but still does better than most Summer shows (which there really aren't any).

OK. Ep3. Barbie's a bloody idiot. No way would I risk losing Julia to side with Big Jim and the psycho school teacher.
But then, Julia's bound to run off to Mr CSI:NY. She should be running away. He's dodgy to the extreme. So that'd make her daft (and a bit needy/co-dependent) when, in S1, she was smart and strong/independent/more self-reliant. I won't be happy if she's reduced to being Penelope Pitstop, running around shrieking 'Hey-ulp! Hey-ulp!' by season's end (not that I can stop it, save by turning the TV off).
I'm not really buying that Lyle was 18-20/a kid in 1988, either. Casting seemed to be way off (and a check of IMDB tells me that this is the case...though I thought it was somewhat closer for Eddie Cahill, but no! Apparently he'd have been 10 in 1988! That's gotta burn). That part, and how he appeared in the present, kind of yanked me right out of the story.

YAY! Mr Nobody is catching up so we can still discuss UTD :) I think some of us are only just now getting season 2 where they live too.
I was surprised Barbie sided with Big Jim too - not because he didn't side with Julia but because the plan to cut the population was horrible.

Moderator I have a question that isn't strictly technical so I don't want to post it to the website threads and its off topic for this thread but I noticed it on this thread sooooo... Has that little green thingy in the top left corner of the posting members avatar replaced the online note?
Apparently so. Jordan did some recent software updates and that came with the update.

Yes, permission granted. Carry on, troops.
(I'll get as far as ep5 over the weekend, with ep6 airing on Monday.)

Spoiler content: *ahem* Yes, of course, that too.
It's just that, where Julia's concerned...I'd tell that woman the sky was green and grass was blue if that's what she wanted to hear. :D
