I was on line at the local sandwich shop a few days ago, and the guy in line in front of me ordered a 12-inch Philly cheesesteak. Warm sliced steak, peppers, onions, cheese. All on the left side of the roll. On the right side, he asked for a second meat. Tuna Salad.
I was thinking, maybe this guy is trying to order two 6-inch sandwiches and save money ... if you separate the roll and fold it over in the middle, it would work out. The girl behind the counter must have thought the same thing, because she toasted the sandwich and gave it back to him open-faced. He gave it back and asked her to close it and cut it, which she did with an absolutely priceless, horrified look on her face. The rest of us on line were just too stunned to say anything at all, but oh, the glances we exchanged.
I'm thinking the police might want to review the security footage, because they might just want to question this guy. Just thinking ...
