Mom had dark hair, blue. Dad had blonde/blue. Me and other sister blonde/blue.

That's one that I think would have made no difference, because his race isn't germane to the story or his relationships. I actually think Hermione was supposed to be black or mixed race.
Steve tweets: To me, the color of the gunslinger doesn't matter. What I care about is how fast he can draw...and that he takes care of the ka-tet.

I'm speechless! Who are these people that saw this when they read this story. In all the years we have been speculating the perfect cast - not once has race been an issue.
I'm really hoping he sees sense before heading for his tower down this path . It is not the one to take . We can wait a little longer.
There may be other worlds than these - this one sure feels like I have slipped through the cracks of the thinnie ...and am now staring into the sheer ludicrous !

(actually, that one isn't race or sex specific. Changing either one wouldn't make a jot of difference to relationships or storyline.)
As expected. Uncle Stevie puts us back on the path once again.
I don't think its a bad thing to question this casting choice. His physical build doesn't even seem right to me. And isn't Roland meant to be a mix between Sai King and Clint Eastwood? I guess they gonna go down the road of re imagining everything rather than staying faithful to the original. Just hope it doesn't end up like the last season of UTD. It might be unpopular to express this, but deviating from the original might not be the best idea.
...I can appreciate the humor, but it was a specific and memorable characteristic....it just doesn't hold true to the story if you start manipulating such detail...and yeah, contacts can make them happen....but I have yet to see an ice-blue eyed African American....and please spare me the "other worlds" dirge....
