Agreed! Now let's see them do something about the slaughter of sharks and dolphins.
I'm glad the conservationists are keeping a keen eye on it to make sure nobody sneaks another "scientific" program under the radar that will allow whaling to resume. This is a victory, but I'm betting that it isn't the end of the war against whaling.
And long lines. Those have to go, too. Those things catch and kill anything that hits them. They need to be illegal.
Finally some good news.FINALLY! Whaling is illegal.
A long line is a fishing line that's anywhere from 1 to 62 miles long. The line is buoyed by styrofoam or plastic floats. Every hundred or so feet, there is a secondary line that hangs down about 16 feet baited with squid, fish, or even fresh dolphin meat, and they catch just about anything that swims into them.
Read more about long lines at Sea Sheppard.org.
Never saw that oneSomething similar to what they showed them baiting in The Perfect Storm. I see what you mean now.
A dear friend of mine lived in Hawaii for years (Navy family). She used to tell me that there's a spot in the hills near the coast where they'd go and watch the whales frolic at certain times of the year, big as day.I hope to see a whale in the wild some day. But I get terribly seasick.
I agreeNow let's see them do something about the slaughter of sharks and dolphins.
