Hi Jojo! Nice to see you again!Started to read Just After Sunset by King couple of weeks ago, I am only halfway into the story.
A Simple Plan is so much better than The Ruins.Taking a break from alternate history. Started A Simple Plan by Scott Smith. Seems better than the Ruins which i thoughts rather shallow. But im not even 100 pages in yet.
If it's Conan literature, only the original R. E. Howard's will do. As for comics, I've always been partial to all the 70s Marvel stuff. Roy Thomas scripts, art by Barry Windsor Smith or John Buscema (there's a ton of John B. Conan out there), and a host of varied and talented inkers.
I hear ya. The part about it maybe being the 'finest sunset of my life' made me choke up alittle. It seems that all of the stories in Bazaar have one theme- death. Or maybe I'm just feeling it more since it's only been alittle over a month since my own Mom died, I don't know. Just seems that these stories are hitting me in the heart more than any of his others......Just finished, Bazaar. The intro to the final selection put a lump in my throat. I could barely swallow by the end of the story...
Read A Simple Plan when it came out in paperback, mostly because of the SK endorsement. I loved it from page one. A grand slam!A Simple Plan is so much better than The Ruins.
I know! Had to wait quite a few years for the follow-up The Ruins and for me it was just alright. Smith didn't break any new grounds with this story at all. I was expecting something so much better.Read A Simple Plan when it came out in paperback, mostly because of the SK endorsement. I loved it from page one. A grand slam!
I felt the same way. I need to check Amazon to see if he's releasing anything new.I know! Had to wait quite a few years for the follow-up The Ruins and for me it was just alright. Smith didn't break any new grounds with this story at all. I was expecting something so much better.

Kurben, if someone paid me a dollar for every book you read I could probably quit my full time job. Lord, you read a lot of books! How do you find the time?Finished Lifeship by Simak and Farmer In The Sky by Heinlein. I do like the oldies in sf. They are usually welltold and not 600 pages long. More like between 200 and 300 which is good. These authors know when to write the end under a story. It is allowed to flott away.
